I tried that system in my lawnmover 3 years ago . I use 1/3 gasoline, 1/3 diesel and 1/3 water. When it was idling mode, enithing was great, but whe I tried to cut thick grass, its lost its power and then stops. Was there something wrong, why the power was low. Anybody have the same problem?
i ran a 3.5 hp briggs on diesel with no modifications.to start it cold i had to put my hand over the carb and pull a few times to flood it and then a few pulls with air cleaner back on and it starts up with a nice cloud of smoke that clears up as it warms.discovered this only because i ran out of gas before i ran out of grass.and i had a 5gal can of diesel.i finised the day mowwing and the next day is when i learned how to start it cold.it plays hell on the piston rings.
@BlanchProductions To be honest, even if it was 30 F, it wouldn't be nothing bad, I've lied down in a pile of snow in my t-shirt at around -10 C, which is 14 F.
I bet you had to start it on gas to warm it up first then switch over to the diesel. they did that to many engines years ago to run on kerosine since kerosine was 3 cents a gal vs 10 cents agal for gas
