it seems as if you forgot about the 1-3-1 zone after you actually start the video. cuz thats the only time i see you put this into a 1-3-1 zone.even when you are setting the traps at each of the corner, your should still have the look of 1-3-1. instead for some reason in this video your zone look likes displaced and some what like a 2-3 zone. what age group are you coaching. i wish you all the success but you gotta get this right if your teaching this!!!
Nope, didn't forget - shift the zone to follow the ball.
A 1-3-1 that maintains a 1-3-1 formation regardless of ball position would work great for youth ball, easy to remember positions, no gambling with traps etc.
This 1-3-1 is designed to trap and pressure. Offensive skills and athleticism for senior high school, in our case, requires that everyone (the weak side of the zone especially) moves with the ball to deny passes out of traps, help on penetration, and be in good rebounding position.
1:05 this is not right. please learn positions for the 3 and 2 for weak side help before posting another video. you never allow the "looopy pass'. weak side help which ever side 3 or 2 should be in the paint behind the 5 protecting low weak sides always.
thank you so much for posting, my coach always gets really mad and makes us run a lot of suicides when ever he tells to do a 131 and we don't, you see we don't even know what a 1 3 1 is because he never went over it with us

@bigeights Yow - passionate opposition.
You do not ALLOW any pass, badly worded.
-You do not devote a defender to someone set-up on the opposite side of the court.
The post is defended half and half (body him up with a hand in the passing lane/accross his chest) and the other defender helps on the lob.
-otherwise you double the post, and double the ball leaving the remaining defender to cover 3

good concepts if rotations are quick enough backside 3 should always drop and play in between block and elbow.
