I became aware of Ryuichi Sakamoto about 10 years ago after hearing him on NPR. This piece, "aqua" is one of the most emotionally affecting pieces of acoustic keyboard music I have ever heard. It can make me feel a little sad -- but at the same time it is hopeful and uplifting. A mixed bag and that dynamic is part of what makes it so attractive to me. Pleased to have come across it on YouTube.
