This is not true. 87-91 was not the true 90's identity. The true 90's identity started to emerge in 1993, 4, and 5, and ended in 2004. That means any of those kids had active and vivid participation, whether they realized it or not. Those toddler years are extremely important and impressionable. These are the kids that stay kids forever. Many of you are jealous of them. Kids born in 1984, 5, 6, and 7 have more in common with kids born in 1993-2004. What?

But most 12 yr olds are in 6th or 7th grade., those grades are middle school years and are ages when kids develop new interest in music shows socially etc. so that's why I said for me my 12th yr in 2003 is not apart ofmy childhood its my preteen/adolescent years.

@KeepTrue56 well thats not always the case. that depends on who you are talking to. there are some 14 year olds who turned 14 in middle school and there are those who were still 14 well into their first year of high school(and in some cases even into sophmore year) so not all 12 year olds can relate to 14 year olds. it just depends on if they were 14 primarily in middle school or if they were 14 primarily in high school.

definitely a 90's kid for a bit. I would say 84 as the start up to about 88 to be a true 90's kid. 89 almost makes the cut, 90-92 as late 90's to early 2000's kids.
I agree with a lot in this video. I was born in 85 myself and think that it's the true and best 90's kid year. Going in the decade I was 4 and when it ended I was 14. It's a great age for all this stuff and you actually understand what is going on unlike these kids that were born in the 90's. I wasn't playing with coloring books but I still rode my bike, watched Nickelodeon from time to time, and was too young to do "teenage suff" like dating/driving/partying/etc. 13-14 are teenagers, but they're still kids. It's pretty obvious to most people except those born in the 90s.

It had to do with important events that happened in MY life that marked the end of my CHILDhood and the beginning of my adolescence/teen years when it was finally time for me to grow up (2002). I was born in '91 and I spent the bulk of my childhood in the 90s and YES I remember them well.
Childhood is like 4-11 years(he'll in my school by the time u were like 10/11 u got made fun of for watching power rangers etc) I understand that I'm not a full 90s kid only because my first childhood experiences were at 1995(aka sailor moon debuting), with some memories of 1994. I feel more of a hybrid because millennium stuff actually started in like 1998 and my childhood ended around 2001-2002.

I see theyre point. Yet, 00s kids arent horrible. I say if you were born in the mid 90s your a 90s baby not kid. Such as myself, I remember ALOT of stuff from the 90s from the music to the Tv shows so saying that 00s kids dont remember the 90s is ridiculous to me. I consider people born from 1985 to 1992 as true 90's kids. '93-''96 is really pushing it. If you're only conscious of a decade for 3 years, I don't think that really counts as being a kid from that decade. When I was a kid, I didn't really care for the news. I was more into video games and cartoons. I listened to N*Sync, Spice Girls, 98 Degrees, S Club 7, etc. I was born in 1988 but I don't consider myself as an 80's because I was only conscious of that decade for about a year and a half. :/

This is not true. 87-91 was not the true 90's identity. The true 90's identity started to emerge in 1993, 4, and 5, and ended in 2004. That means any of those kids had active and vivid participation, whether they realized it or not. Those toddler years are extremely important and impressionable. These are the kids that stay kids forever. Many of you are jealous of them. Kids born in 1984, 5, 6, and 7 have more in common with kids born in 1993-2004. What?

I agree with a lot in this video. I was born in 85 myself and think that it's the true and best 90's kid year. Going in the decade I was 4 and when it ended I was 14. It's a great age for all this stuff and you actually understand what is going on unlike these kids that were born in the 90's. I wasn't playing with coloring books but I still rode my bike, watched Nickelodeon from time to time, and was too young to do "teenage suff" like dating/driving/partying/etc. 13-14 are teenagers, but they're still kids. It's pretty obvious to most people except those born in the 90s.

I consider people born from 1985 to 1992 as true 90's kids. '93-''96 is really pushing it. If you're only conscious of a decade for 3 years, I don't think that really counts as being a kid from that decade. When I was a kid, I didn't really care for the news. I was more into video games and cartoons. I listened to N*Sync, Spice Girls, 98 Degrees, S Club 7, etc. I was born in 1988 but I don't consider myself as an 80's because I was only conscious of that decade for about a year and a half. :/

I read a post from a guy who said he was born in 1987, and he felt AT THE TIME that he was on the tail end of the 90s generation. 1990 is the cut off date. In all honesty, someone born in the late 70s had a better experience of the 90s than someone born in the 90s. I speak the truth. I was there. True 90s kid.
