Why the hell are they taking so long to reload? If this was a real battle, they'd all be fucking dead by now. You ram down your wadding and shot twice, thrice at most, and then return the rod to the sling and give fire...

Ah, yes you might be right, when I think about it. I looked it up on Wikipedia, it says that a normal trained soldier (as those in the video) would shoot 3 bullets per minute, but more well trained soldier cloud reload faster.

I don't think so, I'm a napoleonic reenactor and under drill the manual says you only need to ram down twice. Not 10 like these lot are doing. Even under the stress of battle it doesn't take that long

@baltostella I have watched some of those. But you have to bear in mind that those are not under battle conditions. The soldiers where supposed to wait on orders to shoot (unless given order to fire at will). They where often under great stress, being shot at or approached by enemy soldiers . And yeah these soldiers ram too many times. However, if they would only ram the rod twice, they would reload in about 12 seconds, which are a bit to fast for most soldiers.

@Tananjoh Still in a battle situation, a trained soldier could fire up to 3 rounds a minute, but an elite soldier could fire more.

@baltostella Yeah, as I wrote in an earlier comment. The more well-trained and experianced soldiers kept their nerves better and could therefore reload faster. Same thing in the game, some units reload faster.

@Tananjoh Yes some reload faster, but still not in a realistic ways. The reloading in Napoleon is far more realistic.
