  • I also have PCOS. I was put on the pill as well and gained 50 pounds in four months! I stoped taking it and started eating a paleo style diet, no grains, no dairy, lots of veggies, organic meats and about 75 grams of carbs a day. I work out about three times a week. I lost about 45 pounds and have been able to keep it off. Plus even with wacky periods I was able have two boys. Keep up the good work! Don't be afraid of veggies and look into the pill cause it may not be all its cracked up to be.

  • Hey... How is the low carb going? x

  • I hope you are still progressing. I learned that the only thing that makes me hungry is Sugar. It also makes me depressed. It also makes me tired. All together it makes me fat. So low carb no sugar and the weight is moving. Set a goal of 2lb a week and live it. Document everything you eat and weigh and measure. don't lie to yourself. Look up your BMR or Basic Melatobic Rate.

  • How are you doing now?

  • You need less cardio an start weight training, good carbs. Measure yourself once a month. Low fat and low cal foods stall weight loss too. Keep it up. :-)

  • "This is kelly Obviously ROFLMAO BEST LINE EVA!"

  • ... refeed thts cycling carbs or calories....body builders and fitness modelss do this, i use this on a cheat day, it does reactivates the way ur body burns calories

  • u need carbs , just the right timing, and dnt over eat

  • severe weight training? no wonder you gained weight, you lost fat and gained muscle

  • always weigh urself with no clothes on that adds lbs

  • NO carb kelly lmao ..

  • You have to have to eat your Vegtables to lose the weight and not gain back all you have worked so hard on.

  • You have to have to eat your Vegtables to lose the weight and not gain back all you ha

  • Wow! You look terrific! I could really tell a BIG difference :) DON'T weigh yourself everyday, even for me I could gain 5 pounds of water overnight and then lose it the next day! Keep up the great work!

  • You gained muscle that is where the 2 lbs came from. That muscle is good because it will burn more fat. I know it is discouraging. I have the same problem. I gain and get really discouraged.

  • the eating a high carb meal then go back to ur plan does work once you do the diet for a while ur body gets used to it so if u eat the high carb meal for a day it throws your body off so the diet is new to your body again =D hope this helped

  • In order for the low carb lifestyle to work, you have to eat. My personal experience, 100lbs later, is to make sure you get enough fat in your diet. I increase mine by eating pork rinds and cooking in real butter. You also want to make sure you're eating at least 25-50 carbs a day. I started at 20 and worked on until I'm around 45-50 a day without problem. You need to eat 5-6 times a day or it's not going to work. I also have PCOS though not on the pills. It's rough girl, but hang in there!

  • 2% owl?

  • Sweetheart you're not doing something right. If you are carb sensitive the weight should be falling off. And look you said you lost 22 lbs. So you are losing It's going to take you a little more time than others. My daughter is on birth control to and her weight loss with Atkins was a little slow but she was losing like 2 lbs a week. that's enough

  • Very informative video Kelly...you are right...personalise each weight loss programme to your own body...I have been doing low carb for years it works.

Don't worry about your plateau you'll overcome it...I do the cheat meal you mention & it works for me & my clients.

  • I'm at a weight loss clinic and they do not reccomend a refeed. It's mostly something bodybuilders do. I haven't done a refeed in 8 weeks and I've lost 10 pounds of fat every 2 weeks.

Ask your gym if you can use their bf analyzer, some weeks I only lose 4 pounds but I lost 10 pounds of fat and gained 6 pounds of water.

  • hey grats on your progrss nursehln!! :)

I need to post a new update, I'll post it next weekend because I tried a Jimmy Moore *experiment* with a planned high carb day and want to see what happens with my results before I post about it and whether or not it's a good idea for me or a bad one.

I'll also post my weight loss results so far in this update :)

  • @trinny1102 You look so pretty, Trinny. I bought the 17 Day Diet book, I took some things from that and now I'm taking some tips from you. Only thing is, I DO love vegetables, especially my faux mashed "potatoes" made from steamed califlower, some butter or I can't believe it's not butter, salt and pepper. I make good thick gravy, too, using non-fat evaporated milk.

  • @trinny1102 hi trinny after watching ur progress i want friendship with u do u want

  • Part 2 - I started low carbing August 27, 2010 & I have lost 35lbs but the inches are just falling off! I've gone from a 28W top & bottom to 20W shirts & 22W pants! Even I can't believe it! I weigh every day, too (cause I'm excited to see the scale go down) but you have to just let it go once you're off the scale. I use fitday.com to record my weight. Also, Jimmy Moore (Livin' La Vida Low Carb) & Kent Altena (bowulf on here) have been great help & I'm sure you enjoy them too!

  • I feel your pain about seeing the scale go up & down but the others are correct. It could be due to any number of factors. Don't let that discourage you! You are doing a great job and you will see results sooner than you think. We didn't get big overnight and it will not come off overnight. I strongly recommend that you NOT do the refeed. Remember the disappointment of seeing the scale go up 1 lb? Think how much more disappointing having to get through all the days of cravings all over again...

  • Great job. Once that working out increases your muscle you should lose faster. Muscle takes more energy just to maintain it. I'll check back to see how you are doing. This is it. If not now, when? Never. So now is the time to kick butt.

  • Thanks so much for your comments :)

I'm VERY interested in the 1972 version and will definitely research that thanks!

    I'll post my update tommorrow

  • It is maddening when you weigh everyday. I did that at first. But you have to always remember that it can be water weight. And the other thing is to do you measurements too. You might not always lose weight..but lose inches. They all add up.

  • Try atkins 1972 version, you can google it! It is working for me! I cant hardly lose weight and this is the only way I have found! :) Great job and Keep going... never give up!! You can do it!

  • Thank you! I look forward to comments. I check them several times a day lol.

I'm so happy to hear you can tell in my face, people at work are noticing a change, but unfortunately I'm not yet, but I'm so motivated!

Tonight for dinner hubby made this DELICIOUS low carb chicken parm using tomatoes (he crushed them himself), parmasian cheese shredded, mozzeralla cheese, oregano, and chicken breast, it was so fantastic I ate a lot of it LMAO!

The melted mozzerella killed my pizza cravings too.

  • The every day weighing I agree should be off. The hard work in the gym can add water weight as the body repairs itself. The good news it is water weight, and will soon disappear when the body repairs itself.

PS - I am not in favor of refeed strategy as it is at best a trick and not a long term eating plan. At worst, it reawakens past cravings or the idea certain foods are ok (rice or pasta or even worse sugary treats).

PPS You can really tell the difference in your face.

  • Thanks lol
