Interestingly, the 1965-1966 color episodes of 'Dr. Kildare" were never rerun in syndication, so they have not been seen (if they still exist in the M-G-M library puchased by Ted Turner and now owned by Warner Bros.) since their original NBC airings. This was mainly due to the episodes being cut back to a half-hour and only fair critical reviews as opposed to the acclaimed one-hour back-and-white episodes from 1961-1965.
@Noveltooner FWIW, the 30-minute colour Dr. Kildares were shown on British TV in 1985. They had very unusual scheduling; they were shown at 5.30pm on weekdays to finish off the afternoon children's programmes before the 6pm news.
@dunebasher1971 Thank you. I was never certain as to whether they even existed any more, as they were never rerun in the States. It would be nice if Warner Bros./Turner Broadcasting would syndicate the series here in the states again and add on the half-hour episodes as two episodes in the one-hour block. The Encore Westerns cable channel is doing that with the original 30-minute "Gunsmoke" shows.
It is difficult to convey to a new generation how television was in the 50s, 60s and early 70s. It was an age when TV Guide was hot property when Mom and Dad brought the groceries home. Also, the war generation were becoming middle aged and many shows reflected the nostalgia that generation hungered for in shows like 12 O'clock High, Combat, McHale's Navy and so forth.
Sorry, but the original commander of the 918th Bomb Group on "12 O'Clock High" was Gen. Frank Savage, played by Robert Lansing (Gary Seven on "Star Trek").
Paul Burke as Col. Joe Gallagher replaced Robert for the show's last season (1966-67, I believe).
terentii, you'll have to check the videos dated for the beginning and mid decade to see the notes, but while I try to find the exact footage from shows 45 years ago, it's not always possible. I put what I can find in, and give the dates it ran. Hopefully most consider seeing and hearing themes from that long ago a nice reminder of days gone by.
Phg, I left a message on your home page but will repeat it here.
I'm sorry but the only show I know of that would even be close, is a Canadian show from the mid 70's called "Swiss Family Robinson". They were shipwrecked, but not certain if they had anything to do with pirates.
I was a little confused that this question was on the '64 shows, but I forgot about the comments. Helen Hunt was not on the Swiss Family Robinson that I know of. Here's the cast I have:
Yeah I know the video is about 1964 shows but you mentioned "Swiss Family Robinson" so that's why I did. :) Helen Hunt was in the American version that aired from 1975-1976. It was "The Swiss Family Robinson." It's cast was * Martin Milner as Karl Robinson * Pat Delaney as Lotte Robinson * Willie Aames as Fred Robinson * Eric Olson as Ernie Robinson * Helen Hunt as Helga Wagner * Cameron Mitchell as Jeremiah Worth
Wow, I don't have this version of the show in my lineup. Evidently it was a knock-off of the Canadian original. I might have liked it since, Martin Milner and Helen Hunt are faves of mine. Thanx for the info, hanoc.
Kuwait's right! Beautiful:) *

I was a little confused that this question was on the '64 shows, but I forgot about the comments. Helen Hunt was not on the Swiss Family Robinson that I know of. Here's the cast I have:
Cast
Michael Duhig - Ernest Robinson
Heather Graham (II) - Marie Robinson
Diana Leblanc - Elizabeth Robinson
Ricky O'Neill - Franz Robinson
Chris Wiggins - Johann Robinson
