  • 2:37 auto tuning fail

  • dude this is like the best cover :) love it

  • Yeah, that’s funny. Watch it closer. I almost smashed my face into the wall! Practice up. You can do it! Thanks for the feedback!

  • During the guitar solo I was watching you play it, but then my eyes wandered to your vocalist part and I saw you just jumping around and it make me chuckle hahahahahaha. That was awesome, man, you make me wanna get better at drums so I can do something like this.

  • Don't listen to the haters man, they are usually the dreggs of society anyway and suffer from S.W.D "SIMON" wannabe disease. We bought a TC Helicon VL2 to use in our show and some of the vocal tracks that we have produced using the damn thing are some of our biggest sellers. It doesn't make sense to use fx for every instrument in the band except for singers. It will not make someone a great singer it will only enhance a good voice. Makes a bad singer sound worse.

  • KING!!!

  • This is really...actually...really good...

  • It's fucking great...

  • nice!!

  • drums yes the rest nooooooooooooooooo your embarrisning

  • good job :)

  • Man, you is very good.. Bass, Guitar one, Guitar two, Drums and vocals, Very very good...

    Congratulations

  • I thumbs downed it because of the auto-tune. Too bad, the rest was great. Te vocals are supposed to sound raw.

  • @zeppelin88ab A guitar has fx. I never understood a mentality like yours, it's senseless in my opinion. I have a TC Helicon VL2 and it has added a huge dimension to our shows. So I have to totally disagree with you on that. Vocals are not always better raw as a matter of fact the best way to add a huge dynamic to voice and has been used long before autotune was invented, was to add reverb and delay (2 most popular fx) to the singers mic. They called it "greasing the mic".

  • two words...Fucking beast~~~

  • autotune? comon dude

  • Totally worth every second!

    Really enjoyed myself!

    You rock!!

  • Sweet!

  • Nothing like this ever comes out of my red Ibanez!!! ha ha

  • awesome

  • Very nice man!!! :)

  • is this all one dude?

  • how much autotune did you use for this might I ask?

  • @LiquidVoodooMaster Too much. The vocals were supposed to be just scratch tracks. But I heard 'em so many times trying to get the drums acceptable that in the end I didn't even notice it. That is, until it was too late...

  • @ThePaulyChannel Albeit it was a great cover nevertheless.

  • "Negative feelings about this video should be channeled into a video response whereas you are performing all of the various parts yourself. "

You said every thing that needs to be said right there - keep rockin man, great job!

  • @utahprof Thanks, I really appreciate your support and complement.

  • Nice voice effects pal

  • are yall using autotune?

  • sick man keep it up! i smell potential

  • Thanks, and yeah, too much unfortunately. Don't even really need it for this song, and didn't catch it before posting.

  • nice

  • Thanks!

  • Great cover.

Doesn't look like you're a whole step down from both your hand positions and sound. You just pick this one up by ear?

    Keep up the good work!

  • @broallen25 Thanks. Yep, by ear and distant memories.

  • This is fucking AMAZING.....did you do any post processing on the vocals though? they sound a tiny bit vocoded...regardless, its an amazing cover...you're a fucking god

  • @Gemineye1 Thanks so much. Yeah, the vocals are actually my scratch tracks to lay down the music. I usually make a couple of passes around all of the tracks, and each pass will build upon and be an improvement of the previous take. Being my first video, it took a lot of takes. By the time I completed the music takes I had heard the vocals so much I didn't notice how much effects were on them. Only after I uploaded the video and received some feedback did I notice, and agree.

  • drum track is a LITTLE wrong.. but otherwise great cover!

  • Wow, autotune (pitch correction) on vocals really made it sound...... eiffel 65/owl city-ish. Without the vocals, this is pretty fucking cool.

  • Dude you friggin slayed it. One of the best covers I have ever heard.

  • sweeeeeeet

  • nice !

But the guitar sounds too much heavy metal !

    what do you think ?

  • Thanks! The rhythm or lead/golden throat track (or both)? This one is pretty old. In both cases I'm sure I had the gain on the guitar preamp all the way up. I no longer use the guitar gain at all as I was recognizing some muddiness. Maybe that change would have made it sound better.

  • AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE *-*

  • good job! Check out our acoustic version.

  • ..... O_O

    Wow.

  • That was the best cover I have ever heard in my life, beautiful singing mate well done

  • Ahh Nice! Excellent choice. R.I.P. Layne

  • Justice is served! Well done!

  • You are one sick and disturbed man. That was totally sick man. I love how you made it your own. Your the man. 5 stars.

  • very good job

  • That was pretty goddamn rockin'! I have just one bit of critique/a question... the microphone you used, did you put some effects on it for intentional distortion or is it just how the mic naturally amplifies your voice? I'm not sure if I like the distortion just yet, but it seems to be growing on me after a couple of listens. Either way, this is a great cover; you stomped the vocals, guitars (and bass) and drums and you stomped them HARD. Rock on, brother.

  • awesome is last word....

    PEACE

    KP

  • Wow! Now there is an idea. I havent considered playing out in years. Thanks for the recognition and feedback. Your comments have added fuel to the fire!

  • this must have been a hell of a lot of work and editing. props.

  • pretty nice.

  • Thank you and thanks for the feedback. I just posted Fire Woman, an old Cult tune, if you'd like to check it out.

  • That's amazing dude.. Helluva job...

  • Thanks. It is great to get some feedback. I just posted an old Cult tune, Fire Woman. If you want, check it out when you get a chance.

  • Thank you. Ive been multi-track recording since the early 80s. My first rig was 2 cassette decks and a Radio Shack DJ mixer. Id record on to one and while bouncing to the other record some more, LOL. My band then got a Fostex 4track analog and we used that for years. We then got an Akia 12track analog to make a demo. When Akia discontinued the tapes in 2000 ($30 each for 10 minutes, ouch!), I purchased a Roland VS-1880 digital and used that until last year when the hard drive was full.

  • That's an interesting evolution of your equipment. When I hear this track, I can tell there was a lot of history behind it! Good things just don't fall from the sky... Look forward to hearing some new ones by you.

So far my 4-track Tascam has been working well. I'll wait for it to break down before upgrading. I might go with analog again for the nostalgia and different sound.

  • That's pretty cool, it all sounds great. I do the same thing also with my four track tascam, but my skills are just beginner, just seriously started this year. How long have you been doing all this? Do you have a digital multitrack or analog?

  • After reading all the horror stories of computer based recording systems crashing I moved up to a Roland VS-2480DVD. That is what these tracks were recorded on. A dinosaur by todays standards, but rock-solid and great quality. I used Adobe Premier to assemble all of the videos and mastered music tracks. Its great to hear you started multi-tracking. Being able to build a song and add ideas is a great tool for musicians. I may have been doing this a long time but I still have plenty to learn.

  • Great, you did all instruments?

  • Thanks! Yeah, I play all of the instruments and tracks. The multi-track has a metronome. I usually start with a scratch guitar, put down some drums, bass, and then a scratch vocal. Thats what was down on this cut when I bought my camcorder and decided to try videoing me recording all of the tracks for real. Im now trying to get some buddies over to enjoy the fun. Do you play?

  • This is good. Still have your chops after all these years. Same guitar strap, too... :) I'd like to see you cover some old classics like Nowhere's Home by some forgotten band of the 80's.....keep it up. It's good for the soul.

  • Hey man, its so good to hear from you! Thanks for the kind and encouraging comments. Im working my way back to those really great songs and do have a draft of Nowhere's Home. But, all those songs HAVE to have keyboards. And I only know one person that could do em justice
