Social Enterprise --(Social Programs that are turn into businesses)

Small and Medium Enterprise -- (Businesses that use a franchise model)

Co-operative Corporation -- ( Integrates: credit unions, worker co-op and R&D)

In this way Africans can be self-reliant.

for the amount of resources it would take to place a proper health care system in africa im betting a lot of donors would struggle to see the benefit. africa is still not a developed nation. the education and resources required to do this would most likely have to succeed into the next generation. depending on how its implemented the african people may not be receptive to it. this is not a small commitment and even though the potential for good is there, nigeria needs to take the first step

NOTHING can help the third world until one major trend is reversed. CHINA has the solution -- the "ONE CHILD" policy. They would still be in the toilet without it. Take third world births minus deaths and you get 80+ million NEW third worlders every year!! I don't care WHAT is tried -- NOTHING will work when the bottom billion will soon be the bottom 3 billion. It all starts with population control and China is the proof that this is the case.

I think that if you'll look deeper into the situation of China and it's one child policy and countries with high birth rates it's more complicated. The former has several flaws and infringes on individual rights while the latter is inspired due to widespread culture and the fact that the countries are poor. China has a 44 million gap between boys and girls because of sex discrimination and the one child policy. I disagree that China is any model to follow except in a tyrannical society.

Also, I don't necessarily think the one child policy is what has brought China out of it's low status more so than the embracing of the free market economy despite having a communistic government. It's international trade has helped them a lot. China's recent investment into modern technology and vast resources with which to do so has given them immense industry power. As for poor countries I'm reletively sure that the large families are so more people can work to mantain the each other.

Whatever the cause, NOTHING can help the third world without population control. No amount of money, education, etc. When the population of the third world rises at 80 million NEW mouths to feed, educate, health care etc. each and every year, the entire wealth of the first world would not be enough to put much more than a dent in it. And, the more "aid" we give, the higher the birthrate goes. China's system may not be perfect but SOME form of population control must be done or there is no hope.

I suppose that you expect the governments of poor countries to control their population levels? On the contrary education is perhaps the greatest tool a government has for moving population levels to good levels. You seem to be narrowly set on population control as the only means of correcting the situation but I think it would be very hard to implement and that more innovative strategies could be put forth. As the countries become more unsustainable the people will notice and have to change.

Another thing: China's one child policy comes with certain guarantees. The child is guaranteed an education and health care and many other benefits I don't remember which they did NOT have before. That is hardly tyrannical. With a "one child" policy, the first world COULD bring the third world out of poverty by making the same guarantees to that one child. I think it would work in African and I think all else is doomed to failure.

The one child policy act is quite tyrannical. I don't find it the goverment's place to say how many children a couple can have; and to penalize people for it is tyrannical. Tyranny is the unjust excersice of power of any kind and while it may seem quite justified to you and many others, the opposite can be said for myself and many others. Although it is all still rather complex and more than the one child policy act would need to be enforced to help a third world country.

We destroy the economy of Afrika by taking the welt h out and then dumping our over production as "aid" in there home markets ruining the home price for agricultural products, textiles and others...
