For thousands of years people have fasted or dieted and also exposed to others who are eating or drinking. I have done that too. If you have the real purpose for the fast in your heart, the presence, smell, etc of food or drink is not even a temptation.

For thousands of years people have fasted or dieted and also exposed to others who are eating or drinking. I have done that too. If you have the real purpose for the fast in your heart, the presence, smell, etc of food or drink is not even a temptation.
So the suggestion you mention should not be an issue if this is a true fast.
Our guy here has pointed out that this month is a form of diet.

Islam teaching came AFTER Hebrew teachings and Jesus' teaching on subject of fasting. I believe he is saying you can't call it a fast in the historic definition of a fast. That's all. He did not speak to difficulty.

Definitions of word's change over time. It is a fast of sorts because it involves starving yourself for a bit, just not consecutively. It instead involves starving yourself 30 times in a row, enough to get some I would assume spiritual attachment to food. But a diet it is not in any sense of the word. Diets usually involve not eating a certain food or eating less food. The time you eat food is not particularly important. It isn't the same as a Judeo-Christian fast, but it is still a fast.

Muslims basically just rearrange their calorie intake until after sunset when they "fast". I know several Muslims who eat 2 or 3 meals between sunset and sleep during Ramadan.
I also know one that basically never eats until 4 or 5pm all year round. When I was discussing this with her she told me "Its easier for me to fast for Ramadan this way, because my body stays used to eating late."

so from this verse we can see that God will remember the convenant which is between god and every living creature in the world and he will not flood the waters and destroy all flesh, since the rainbow will be in the cloud and god will look upon that rainbow and remeber the ever lasting covenant.

You gonna try it??...look, it has been revealed to me that the rabbi Mohamed plagiarized that fasting thing from the practices of Hindu Monks preaching there at the time, so ther is some confusion as to the guidelines to fasting, anyway, it sounds dangerous, and as with any diet or excercise programme, see your local Priest or Mulla first and read the manual throughly y'all be merry.
