Thanks ^^ You simply have to press and hold the Item button ( = no release it). When you release it, the shell will be thrown. It also works with fake item boxes, bananas & Bob-oms.

i had a cloud and never exploded when i played some cheaters and i had a mushroom once or twice when i was in first. it was kind of wierd to get a mushroom if your in first.

That's also possible when there isn't any cheater in a room : on rBC3, MT, BC for example, the game can give you a Mushroom at the right end of the course, I think.

Mushrooms are also good when you're first, you can use a good shorcut and come to the finish quicker :)
