I don't see why people are complaining that this device isn't something they'd use for gaming. I coped for 3 years with an IBM Thinkpad R52 that had an ATI Mobility Radeon X300 64Mb card installed. Getting this laptop will probably blow my mind. =)

i hate the fan on this thing the monitor blocks the fan an overheats causing my games to lag if i wanna play any games i have to put it on a surface and raise the computer over a box or sumtin so the hot air from the fan actually goes somewhere and helps having a fan blowing by it

i didnt run fraps to get the fps, but im guessing it was around 40 to 50 with no action (was pretty damn smoothe with no lag), and then probably down to 20 to 30 with alot of action. i think its pretty good for this multimedia laptop. (its not an actual gaming laptop)

the issue is with the 90w power brick not supplying enough power. if you contact dell about it you will get a free 130w adapter and the problem goes away.

For the last part of your question, the answer is no. The video card isn't powerful enough. If you want that, I'd suggest looking into an Alienware M17x.

yea lol its pretty beast, its got an pretty good battery life too i get about 3-4hours on mine when im gaming which i find awesome.... I upgraded mine to the max specs u can and it runs everything ive thrown at it on high at 1920x1080 resolution except crysis i play that on 1440x900 on very high which looks AMAZING eitherway lol

It was correct when I said that it was only $1400, but now they have made the default amount of ram 6GB and thats why its $1600 for the core i7 base model now..... kinda sucks that they are forcing 6GB because most computers dont really need that much to run but, oh well lol their choice, and I bought this computer with 6GB of ram and the top core i7, it gets kinda hot when u run games so I just went out and bought a $40 laptop cooler and it stays perfectly fine even in my lap....

The Shadow Detail is Off in this Video..... The FPS will Reduce to Half if it is on.... Shadows take high memory from the Card... It will be much slower if it is on.....

Depends on your ambient temperature. I keep the AC on in my apartment all the time since I live in South Florida so the laptop only gets mildly warm. During gaming the touchpad area gets pretty warm to hot.
