"Skittles and unicorn dust" rotf. I wish I would've known about this in Nov. I would've definitely gone. Myself being a black Dominican. Yes, BLACK not a self hater like many are calling us. My friends would have probably gone too. They are mostly Puerto Rican, Costarica,Dominican n and Jamiacan. We all have our "undealt reality" We need to face racism not run from it. Anyone could be racist not everyone would admit it. Thanks Felonious Monk.
Interestingly you will likely never gain agreement that racism exists from those who practice it on a daily basis. It is either so deeply woven pulling a single thread would unravel their entire reality.
Munk, Keep up the pressure and help unleash the force of real black power on the foundation of American prosperity and we will all benefit. Signed, white guy.
@FmonkMOC, keep speaking 'Truth To Power'. I don't agree with every thing you post (just the majority of it), but at least you speak from the heart and, agree or not, you make people STOP and THINK. Thank you.
3: ALL pussy is pink on the inside and tasts (yeah, that's right) just as sweet no matter what color the outside is. Are you really going to say, "No, I won't fuck THAT pussy because it's the wrong color on the outside? Okay then, more for me!
2: If you are going to try to take Monk to task over a point he made, PLEASE, re-watch the section in question and get your facts straight to make sure you know what you are talking about you simple-minded fucks! CHRIST, some of these people make it difficult to love them Lord, but I'm trying. Forgive me.
Alright. Since we're being real here... I think political correctness is killing our society. Everybody is walking on eggshells trying not to offend other people. We need to drop the syntax of "race-american" and just start calling ourselves AMERICANS. We're maintaining the idea of segregation through verbal conditioning. The whole paradigm keeps us divided into little groups that quarrel amongst each other (and amongst themselves).
@yamalg Tottaly agree I hate when like political figures ry to become controversial by reading to kids or something HOW BOUT INSTEAD OF READING 1st GRADER BOOKS YOUR GIVE THE FINGER TO THE WORLD AND DO YOUR JOB
@yamalg Well said. It's not just syntax though. We have things like 'black history month' and 'affirmative action' that are aimed at 'helping out our African-Americans' but in reality are probably doing more harm. Instead of African-American History Month lets have an American History Month that includes AMERICANS like MLK Jr and Frederick Douglas. Instead supporting affirmative action we need to improve low-income neighborhoods, their education, and give people and equal chance to succeed.
@aceman528 Affirmative action had it's place and became obsolete sometime in the past 15 years. In its inception, it was a way to ensure equal opportunity amongst all citizens. Now, it's just about meeting a quota. My state (hick-ass Arizona) abolished this. We've hopefully transcended the need for govt. coercion when it comes to employment, "It's 2010. Time to act like grown-ups." Black history month in a nutshell: "TEAM A" for 11 months and "TEAM B" for 1 month. How is this fair to anyone?
@yamalg Your EXACTLY right! This is the essence of what I've been trying to say, but people are not used to seeing themselves as Americans. We are a group of people have so much going for us, and we continue to bitch and moan to each other about how things suck. You want to learn about sucking countries? Go to, Sudan, Ethiopia, Sierra Leon, Ivory Coast, Central African Republic, Iran, Afghanistan, many places in the "Old" Yugoslavia", old "USSR", China, Mongolia, North Korea. These places Suck!
@yamalg I know this from personal experience. Everyone who really wants to make something of themselves can do it here. I'm just sick of the Belly Aching, of people here. Munk I like listening to your positions because I think your a person who already knows this, as you know about the Bullshit in Washington.
I wish you and every American on here Success, Happiness and Peace!
@tyoneal I've heard all kinds of stories. We had 5 refugees from Sudan at the highschool I went to. If you want to vomit, go talk to one of those guys about the stuff they've witnessed. One of my best friends is an immigrant from the former Yugoslavia, he has some pretty horrific stories as well. Our system isn't perfect (seems like it's becoming less perfect since Kennedy), but as it stands we have more of an opportunity here than most people can even dream about.
@yamalg That's what I was talking about, the places I mentioned are HELL compared to here. Here ia not perfect, but Here is not THERE. The Sudanese are a beautiful people, but the Warlords, Government, and criminal element are bad beyond imagination. Being in the US is like being at Club-Med for ANY race. Don't believe me make the trip yourself like I did. It will Fucking turn your world upside down.
@tyoneal Exactly, and I find it fascinating that the people who have experienced the worst of humanity often have the most hope and appreciation for the little things. You bitch and moan when your football team loses? Sudanese "lost boy" says "At least your family wasn't chopped up by machetes." You missed the bus/train on your way to work? Yugo refugee says "At least your neighborhood wasn't bombed while UN troops stood around doing nothing."
White people have gatherings and meetings all the time. What is the difference, if any race want's to get together to have a meeting to discuss anything? Isn't that what the constitution is for? It's 2011 soon to be 2012, this isn't 1950 or 1960. Get over it, take care of yourself and your family and everything will be alright. Stop worrying about what everyone else is doing, they're not plotting on anyone as far as I know.
i would have loved to make it to pace and im in a philosophy class where were studying race, phenomonology, cornel west, etc...Next time you gotta give us a heads up before, i live in pa and now cant make it. let the ppl know like a week or 2 in advance and i think your attendance would grow
Munk I support your message I wish more people watched ur stuff its good that you can adress all of this I'm white and I agree w/ what ur saying, keep it up
munk, i agree with you that racism still exists, but what do we mean when we use the term? since the civil rights movement, a stratum of black people have been integrated into the system, while things have gotten worse for the poor and working class majority. however, the fact things are worse for the poor today can't be explained by increased racism. it has more to do with economics: deindustrialization, cutting of social programs, decreased federal aid to cities, a weak labor movement, etc.
I like the fact ,that you understand both sides ,because i am southern born Caucasian .UP on meeting most Ethnicity I am labeled a Bigot . Hell i even see there point but that point itself is racism . I hope i never have a though process even remotely like those that i had to endure growing up but at best if i say or do somthing along those lines i hope my friends call me on that because i would be going agaist my own belief system
I wish I could go to the panel but I can't get to NY. I hope it's televised or recorded so you or someone can put it on here. Personally I'm a separatist. It has nothing to do with disliking other races but my view that as a community Blacks have not learned to love ourselves and have pride in ourselves. Malcolm X asked who taught us to hate ourselves and I feel that is still an issue from our hair and color to the low vertical mobility in the black community. I think until the community
learns to respect itself, love itself, and view itself in a positive light we can't possibly escape the residual effects of the past on us as a people. Until we are capable of that we can't expect to integrate into society without compromising ourselves as a people. Outside influences have not been kind to the black community.
That's wzup homie...keep doin U to the fullest. When that change come, the same people want see it comin...just like always..."they will be sucking on skittles and unicorn dust, LMAO " ...real talk...Ashe!
I really miss the lady talking at the beginning and end of the "Stop It B" videos. Can't you just take the previously recorded audio and attach it to your new vids?
I agree with what you say again, but the problem is that the younger generation is more concerned with shaking their butts, and taking a victim stance than actively doing something about it. If the issues of our community are not addressed then we run the risk of the self fulfilling prophecy. By this I mean we will be treated like victims and victimized as well. You can't live the American dream if your real life is a nightmare. We must work to find and implement solutions.
War to end slavery because the idea of keeping another human being as livestock is wrong regardless of the color of someones skin. It also means telling ppl to piss off when they make racist comments because they are ignorant and scared to face the truth that's just another human being that has probably gone through some tough shit also. I hope that helps some at your discussion and could you possibly get back to me on why I can be called "my nigga" but can't use the word nigga in public.
I didn't try to emulate black culture, I was just accepted. Kinda odd considering that a black guy was the worst of my moms boyfriends when I was a kid and beat me more often and harder than most. Seems like if I was gonna hate that would be a good reason but I got over it. Being me and being white also means that there is almost no help when the economy goes bad because I'm white and it should be easy to find a job. Out also means that my family has been here since 1632 and fought in the civil
For my parents to deal with. I had no friends in school and when I moved the one black kid in the school I moved to decided to try to kick my ass, when I looked at him and smiled he ran away. The next time I experienced the company of another person of color was in the military. The military doesn't discriminate but solders do and I found more common ground with my black friends and was proud as hell the first time I was called nigga, out kinda felt good to be accepted. I still dressed the same,
What does out mean to be white? I couldn't tell you cause I'm not all white ppl I'm just 1 white guy but let me tell you what out means to be me. I grew up on welfare, got a bad education even though I had a higher than normal IQ because I had the wrong last name. I wore hand me downs from the clothing closet cause you could fill a bag for a dollar, and that dollar came from me working and walking the streets collecting cans. I was physically abused because the stress of being poor was too much
White Dude Speaking: Problem with White people.... we don't want to admit our government screwed many thriving black businesses in the 50's and 60's with "Urban Renewal." Politicians who say urban renewal.... be careful of them. Someone is about to get screwed and another will be paid.
i may not agree with you every time but you approach every issue with logic and sanity and i applaud you for it.
you asked "what does it mean to be white?"
this is the elephant here:
it is being afraid to point out anything that could be construed as positive about anything related to being white. because if you do; you are racist. every other race can be proud of their race or heritage but being white i can't. how much does that suck?
@AmericanPowerBase He obeys the traffic laws. He is a attorney in good standing. He gets pulled frequently, not every time, because he's a black man who drives a BMW. Good day sir. Also, you might want to try yoga or religion. You seem to be upset about something. Oh well, toodles!
i totally agree with you, my brother. but, and this is the question i've wrestled with myself, how can you engage with the more militant of our brothers and sisters about peace and unity amongst the oppressed lower-class people of all races without being called a sellout? what are your thoughts?
A "Black" Center, when everyone is invited? Hyphenated Americans Are Bullshit! If people want to be treated equally, then don't insist that they are called anything different. Until we start identifying ourselves to each other as the same, we will never treat each others as equals. No Black Community Centers, No Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, No White Golf Courses, Oh wait that Racist. Racism is Bullshit, and Identifying yourself by your Race is Bullshit! This is the "Elephant in the Room? Munk
@tyoneal Now, should we strive to get to a point when those labels are gone? Yes. Is race ultimately meaningless? Yes, but we're not going fix the damage done by it being negatively zeroed in on by simply removing the label. We'll get there once that damage is repaired. Failing to understand people other than yourself and insisting you know something you CLEARLY dont will ensure we never get to that point.
I am Irish in origin and I bought an old newspaper, because I thought it was very telling of what all immigrants, voluntary or not, go through when they enter a new culture. The full page drawing had a scale on it that was balanced, a Black Man was sitting on one side of the Scale, and a Irishman was sitting on the other side of the scale. Life is or has been a bitch for everyones culture or relatives in the past, but That is the PAST! YOU will decide your future, no else can. God Bl
@tyoneal As I mentioned, the effects of the past still remain today. We STILL haven't recovered from the past. If I broke your legs a week ago you're telling me you wouldn't be still trying to recover today simply because the event that injured you happened in the past? smmfh. Get a clue. Yes, Irish were discriminated against but some hair dye, a name change, and a new accent, and problem solved. You do understand why we couldn't do the same right?
@logic39da Yes, of course I would have to recover, about 6 weeks. Do I have to recover from my Grandfather getting his legs broken, Nope, and neither would you. Just because your skin color is Black or Brown is not any reason you can't mover forward. It's about you as a person, not your skin. There are many dark skinned people that are Beautiful, Brilliant, Clever, and Speak better English than I do, and english is their second language! I have dated numerous different people that had a (More)
@tyoneal Now, if all this was simply a matter of dusting yourself off, dont you think we wouldve fucking done it by now? It's much deeper than your outsider simplistic ass view of things. I hope I dont have to explain every single detail and variable that keeps the cycle going. I hope you actually THINK about the situation in the future instead of just running with some bullshit you made up in your head. That helps no one. Again, get a clue before you speak. I'm done.
@logic39da Some people have dusted themselves off, there are many people of all nationalities that have figured out how to be successful in this country. A good friend of mine his family moved here from South Korea. They had nothing when they got here. Didn't even speak the language, or know anyone, they were refugees. 2 Parents, 3 girls, and 1 boy. this was 30 years ago. They have busted ass and now own 3 restaurants, a Mortgage Company, and a real estate office building. How would you explain
@tyoneal The fact that you think any of this has to do with me specifically, again, shows you caught in your own head. I know you're no good with analogies but I'll try again: For every harmful product you get off the street a factory pumps out thousand's more. I'm talking about shutting down a factory not just scrambling to get rid of the product one by one. To do this, you have to acknowledge the factory exists in the first place, not just think the product magically appears out of nowhere.
@logic39da It doesn't sound as if you have, your implying that someone or something has kept you from being successful. Please explain to me how unfair your life has been to you that keeps the "Cycle" going. You would be surprised how many people struggle just like yourself. If there is a bad cycle in your life, one that you can recognize, why the hell wouldn't you break it and move on? You think I just made up Bullshit in my head? Hardly, I have had to make tough decisions just like you would.
@logic39da I have a clue and I'm trying to share it with you. You say, "I'm done." Your giving up already? Tell me where I'm wrong, don't run away from a situation your uncomfortable with. Confront it, confront me. All you've given me is all the reasons why you can't do something. Step up to the plate and take responsibility for yourself and your own actions. Tell me where what I'm telling you is wrong. There is no way the Korean family should be so successful starting with nothing, and not you.
@tyoneal However, get called names while growing up in that environment and you start to believe what's being said about you. This leads to not giving a fuck about anything even yourself. Imagine a black kid knowing nothing of the past and just constantly seeing people that look like him in his same situation. He may think that's what it is to be black. Have you ever hard a black kid say to another black kid that they're "talking white" when speaking proper English? cont...
@logic39da I was called names growing up, and beat up on a regular basis in elementary school. I was small, uncoordinated, and Dyslexic. (Many people thought I was Stupid) Yes, it sucks, and you can let people define you as a person. For a while I did that. It was Stupid, and I figured out that I was what I made myself, NOT what someone else makes me. You ARE the same, you define yourself. If you don't like things the way they are get off your ass and change them. It IS hard at first, but doable
@logic39da Your right you can be down on yourself, but there are plenty of examples of Black people who have done great things, and been very successful. Those are the people you focus on, it's not new territory for Blacks to be successful. There are Blacks in every field of Science, owning businesses, Show biz, Athletes, etc. Do you just choose not to see these people? Yes, I have heard it called "White" talk. I know you know the difference because you use English as good or better than me.
@tyoneal This leads to a disproportionate amount of poor uneducated blacks. Poverty leads to stress, health problems, arguments, bad eating habits, despair, poor self image, high crime rates, drug use, etc. Now, is this present in the black community or am I just making this up? Did this all happen yesterday or are these vestiges from the past? These are ACTUAL obstacles that need to be overcome and not simply about being called names, genius. cont...
@logic39da Your basicly saying the prejudice of the black community against white man education is whats keeping ghettos full of crime? No its the refusal to actualy accept responsability for the culture theyve grown, of opportunist thieves and bigoted ignorance towards everything white.White ghettos are poor but you dont hear them shooting up suburbs daily. If you hate whitey so much, why dont they realise.Your now the black kkk, killing black ppl for fun.You aint a g,your a murderer son grow up.
@logic39da There are plenty of people around the country of ALL colors in the same position as the one you mention. In urban areas yes, there are a large amount of Blacks caught up in this situation. In the country is where you can find a lot of poor white trash, along the border especially is where you find a lot of poor Mexican, and Central American people. There is always high crime, drugs, prostitutes, shitty parents, and crappy schools. These are obstacles that all colors of people have.
@logic39da With all people having the same problems, did your "Past" bring them down to? No. In each of these areas these people have chosen to decide to stay where they are economically/Demographically etc. There are literally 1000's of programs and scholarships available to help people that are willing to help themselves. It is however up to each person to get off their ass and make their own way, The Black community especially has had a problem with allowing poor values to be accepted. cont.
@logic39da The shit values have also become a big problem in all communities. Churches are in every city and at least there everyone has access to what good value are whether you believe in God or not. Responsibility, it taught, good behavior is taught, and everyone is free to move out of every City and into the City of their Choice. So there is a way out of every situation. Easy? no. Possible? Absolutely. I do believe that many in that black communities put their trust in the wrong hands. cont.
@logic39da Many of the Black "leaders" are just using the poor to gain power for themselves. They tell Blacks not to trust Whitey, or the Whites just want Blacks to Act like "Uncle Toms". That really sucks, because there are loads of whites that just want to be around nice "Good" people. Values, and Standards are what is important. When Blacks lift themselves up like "Herman Cain", or "Clarence Thomas", the Black Community just dogs the shit out of them, and that is really piss damn poor of them
@tyoneal Nothing you said has any relevance to what I said. It has everything to do with the conversation in your own head. The fact that you couldn't even apply the analogy right confirms your cluelessness. My grandfathers broken legs have nothing to do with me. My grandparents and everyone that came before them, however, being denied jobs, education, rights, and dignity does. Now, apply that to the antecedents of all blacks and try to keep the scale of this in mind. cont...
as you said, "@logic39da You got the Analogy I posted, "My grandfathers broken legs have nothing to do with me." That;s exactly what it was meant to say. The experiences of people in your past while sad, don't have a damn thing to do with you on this day. It is History that is all. (denied jobs, education, rights, and dignity) Are things that have happened to every group of people in the world at one time or another, and it is still going on at one level or the other now. cont.
@logic39da This is another example of you walking forward with you head turned around backward. What happened in the past effects you if you let it. Take responsibility for your owe life and all the Bullshit you mentioned goes away. Your so busy feeling sorry for yourself you make it impossible for you to achieve your maximum potential. Quit getting caught up in all this crap from the past. Face forward, use your brain, work hard, live by a high value system, and You cannot fail.
@logic39da (Continued) darker skin color than myself. I have done it in the US and I have done it in Africa, and everyone what's the same thing. They want to be happy and healthy, and they want to be able to achieve something for themselves and their family. Just because your skin is darker than mine doesn't mean a thing unless you let it. YOU are who you are, accept yourself, and other will accept you. There are only two different types of people, Good and Bad. You decide what YOU are not me.
@logic39da I need more room to be fair with you, sorry. The damage you speak of is repaired as soon as you decide your moving on and are not going to let the past control your future. I do feel sorry for many of the Blacks in this country, because they have been convinced that they are all victims, and are not capable of being successful in the U.S. I'm sorry for many of your who get all pissed off when someone says the word "Nigger". I don't like the word, but a word is all that it is. (More)
@tyoneal Kike, Whop, Paddy, Cracker, Spic, Towel Head, they are all just stupid fucking words. Quit giving someone so much power over you that one word makes you offended. I don't give a shit what anyone says about my heritage, my past, or otherwise. Why? Because I have better things to do with my time other than to let you ruin my day. Try it sometime it is liberating. Toughen up your skin so some words and people can't make you waste your time on something that is not moving YOU forward.
@tyoneal We FOUGHT to be included. Do you recall this? Have you taken a history class? We, however, couldnt wait around languishing while we tried to crack that shell so we made groups for ourselves. Again, youre backwards; US being excluded is what lead to our groups, NOT an insistence on being separate. The economic, social, and psychological damage from that exclusion and mistreatment still exists and is not going to disappear in less time than it took to create it cont...
@logic39da Everyone Fights to be included. How could I not remember this Everyone has to go through this. I have taken more History than you, that is why I'm encouraging you to learn from the past, but look forward to how YOU are going to spend YOUR own future. Boo Hoo, poor you. You think your the only person or group of people that has had to wade through Shit? Yes, learn history and quit feeling sorry for yourself. LIFE IS NOT FAIR. Learn it, and Live it Your whole statement is past.LookForwa
@tyoneal No, not everyone fights to be included, some assimilate. Some blend in. Some of us can't. It doesn't matter how much history you took if you were apparently asleep in class. Again, people like you are so caught in your own head that you refuse to understand anyone other than yourself. You refuse to step back and say "maybe I didn't have all the information". Is long as your mentality exists, the issues that we all have will never go away. Youre apart of the problem.
@logic39da If you were born in America, your American. Take the good parts from your past and move forward with them, accept the good parts that here and embrace them, become an American without a hyphen. That is what every successful person has done no matter where they are from. It is essential to learn how to work and grow in the environment that is here, because YOU are here. Saying you can't change is true if you let it be. If that's the case your just making an excuse. That is sad.
@logic39da Of course I am part of the problem, I'm encouraging you to let go of the Bullshit you can't change and learn from it. I'm encouraging you to focus on how to use your time for your Happiness and Success, and that is a bad problem. What I am telling you is the truth no matter what is inside your head or past. Blaming me for something doesn't do you any good, it's just an excuse you use to sit and feel pity about yourself. What the heck does blaming me do to help you? You help Yourself.
@tyoneal People like you always want to focus on how people deal with their issues but not the issues themselves and how they came about. We were singled out and mistreated because of our race for the majority of our time in this country but you cant figure out for the life of you why we might be a little preoccupied with it? smh. Youve got it backwards; us NOT being treated equally is what lead to hyphenation, not US "insisting" on being apart from the whole cont...
@logic39da People like me can be found in ALL Races. Like the other post you are always talking about your past, turn your head around and look for your own opportunities for your life and family. You waste your time feeling sorry for yourself. Quit it, the ONLY time you should be worried about is the time you have left. Haven't you ever heard the phrase, "We all have our Cross to Bare?". Now I will grant you that the Government has many assholes in it, They cut us into groups, not me or you.
@tyoneal where is the hyphen? A perfect example...you would like to dictate how I identify myself, yet I have no desire to do the same for you. It's not a "black center". It's the multi-purpose room at the predominantly white Pace University. Your solution is exactly what I'm discussing in this video. Your belief that if we merely call ourselves Americans the poverty, poor decision making, lack of education, etc. will cease. You have a response to a panel that hasn't happened. Relax.
@FmunkMOC Hey, I'm glad you joined in, thanks. Your right it's NOT the "Black Center", It's the "Black Student Union". I take the word "Black" in the name to refer to a "RACE" and not the color of the building, right? If not I apologize. However if it does refer to RACE then it continues to help propagate the silly differences in our skin color. I think we want the same thing, but I think a "White Student Union", would not be a good idea for the same reason, and it would bother a lot of people.
"Pace University Student Union" , has a nice inclusive ring to it . Blacks being 13% of the population, most places will be predominately something other than Black. The Title of the name of that building doesn't add anything positive to it, it is only another method of reminding people of the esthetic differences of different colors of people. I know you say it is for everyone, and I have no reason to think otherwise, however the building name is not for everyone, that is what is bad about it.
@lamsonmusic I'm not gonna take your statement serious cuz you're just sticking up for your clan of idiotic republicans. Typical rep supporter. *shrug
@YaBoySharrod under the obama administration America has racked up more debt then every other administration put together. We're gonna get this country back on track. Socialism is a joke.
@YaBoySharrod You mean the successful businessman who has also been a politician and made a profit hosting the Olympics that joke, or the other businessman who has turned around company after company making them and him millions that joke,or the Governor of the state of Texas that is responsible for HALF of all the jobs that have been created during Obama's presidency that joke. Before Obama took office unemployment was 5.5%, gas $1.73,Now more on EBT and living in poverty Obama's a JOKE
Everyone has problems... &nd everyone has a tendency to be racist... LOL! But great video once again! You need to make videos more often!!! =]] <33333 "Kick the elephant move the elephant... Do something, but quit acting like the elephant doesn`t exist" LOL!
RT: as an extreme, anyone who is closed minded should be shipped to an island, everyone who is a pussy be put on that same island, and incompetent/corrupt people can head that island
i got this old skinny horse that is living its final years. My mail lady called the humain soc. on me. They came out and checked on the animal and i explained that i had rescued the horse and i was letting it live its last years in peace.they said "we should kill it so people dont have to see it like this",i was stund.I said "so you want to kill it cause it disturbs your view point".People want to not see or hear something if it does not agree with their eyes and ears...
Is racism really a problem as Classism? I don't know we always going to have racism always scewed toward the people of color even when we are the dominate race as per population 2020 and beyond. Plutocrats & Olargarchs are the real enemy of the lower class(every race) Classism is the NEW RACISM!
Not too long ago America actually had to put into law equal rights. Many were against. just because it was law did not change the minds of some who raised their children to hate. I was not taught to hate, treating everyone equally was not taught as well. I feel the black community was also brought up in a non constructive manner as well, can't blame them for the way they were treated. Each generation it's getting better. I see a man/woman in everyone who are judged by their actions not color.
WTF is up with your fake top teath smile when you say "my good white friends"?
You're right; racism is out there.. and it is in all of us. We all have those negative disaproving/ untrusting feeling towards one group or another. Sure we can tone it down/ polish over it or laugh it off... but it's right there behind the facade, hiding itself from the light but feeling just as angry/ bitter/ jealous and as hateful as ever.
You know what monk, you are right about one thing. Racism does exist but I don't think it is as much white and black as it is uneducated, ignorant, assholes of all races and colors who just hate period. I definitely think you should do what it means to be an American. that would be a Hot topic. Great videos
You could be purple with orange polka dots...and if you are a good person...that is what counts....who gives a shit what color you are? I don't! I only care about what kind of person you choose to be. I choose to love you all...regardless of race, creed, religion, sex, etc....we are the Tribe of Many Colors...get over it already.
If a black lady was to walk through a relatively white neighborhood, she wouldn't have a problem. Now if a white lady walked through a relatively black neighborhood, she would have some problems.
Why is this? I mean, I have nothing against African Americans or anything, but this is true...
racism isnt even really that big of an issue. almost all racists are just skinheads and rednecks but they dont effect anyone and their all pussies these days
that is true, people are afraid to speak what's really on their mind and switch around words to make it not sound as bad, how do you tell someone nicely that your breaking up with them or that they have HIV, exactly you can't because the fact still remains, that's why ima be straight up with my kids and encourage them to question things around them, some parents get mad when their children question shit and argue with them, not me, that means your children are intelligent if they ask questions
I've never understood racism. I think we all have pride in our own heritage, but hating other races or religions has never made sense to me. I will say this, racism isn't the problem of any one race, but rather all races, creeds, and colors. I'm glad to see racism toward blacks has been forced into the shadows, and can no longer be proudly displayed in the open. Untill we shine the light in those shadows and confront all racism where ever it exists, it will continue to be a fester on our society
Another great video as usual, FM. You have a point. People don't talk about it out of PC Fear. They scared they gonna offend someone by talking about it. What gets me is these goons we call politicians in DC who think they can win votes by playing the race card. I know you don't normally do politics, but maybe a little shout out to those who eat it up when the card is played. They need to wake up and see how they are being played for suckas.
"Until there's no such thing as a first class-second class citizen of every nation, there will be war". - Bob Marley circa 1976. It's about damn time all the B!s stopped and finally listened to him.
Hey B, read this news today.msnbc.msn.com/id/45173371/ns/today-entertainment/#.TrWbBnJmnpc A great loss of a man who got fired and suspended many times for speaking his mind no matter the topic, like you do
I got an email I'd like to toss your way and hear your thoughts on, it's possible it's racist or maybe it's just truth in photography? Got a contact address? Peace
It's got to the point where political correctness is the elephant in the room- talk and act nice but don't deal with the problem. You're right- you've got to come right out and damn-well say what's on your mind, no matter what it is, and learn to deal with it. People have stopped talking about their prejudice and are now talking around it, which is worse because it's fundamentally dishonest. Boils don't go away- you lance 'em to get all that ugly puss out. It's fear of the pin, I think.
In my younger days I recall that if a black man would enter a room full of whites, tension grew with the crowd that in today's society I just don't see, however I feel it has been reversed.
Try being white walking into an all black room, the tension that existed back then had reason. The black man, Giant Afro, pick in hair was intimidating. I feel the black man knew it and played on it as a threat. I now feel this same threat in an all black room. Do I now present a threat? or is this anger?
@digicom666 legitimate question. Don't really know how to answer it. I can only speak for myself when I say it's never an issue for me but I've seen some that are affected. I WILL admit that for years my conversation would not contain certain words (i.e. the N word) if I was in mixed company. Made me wonder if I was choosing to live with a double standard. I don't like double standards. So I had to choose to either drop the word or say it freely. I've ALMOST completely removed it from my speech.
@FmunkMOC EXACTLY! Thank you! Finally. Black people raise hell about white people saying the N-word yet THEY THEMSELVES say it all the fucking time. Hypocrites raising double standards. Sad!
People have a right to be racist. people also have a right to refuse to interact with racists. Society will ostracize the anti-social. Keep speaking truth, FM.
Yo' B Stop It! LMFAO. I've been totally immersed in entertainment since I first saw one of your videos as my 63 year old white ass was jumping around and ran into the video "Stop It B! OBAMA PAY YOUR &*% BILLS" the damn truth is funny as hell, just like the fucks like Larry the Cable Guy busts truth about dumb ass white red necks. I'm tired of them and their "you might be a redneck if" they play like the lot of us are stupids fucks and never throw down some helpful truth, like you do, voted up.
I'm one of the only white families in a black neighbourhood. I have garbage thrown in my backyard all the time and have even had broken glass thrown all over my front lawn. My son is targetted and victimised regularly at school and in the playground. And people just keep telling me that areas like this don't even exist in Canada.
People that turn a non-racial situation into a racial situation by bringing up discrimination as an excuse, are just as bad as people that actually discriminate.
If someone tells you you're failing at your job, because you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing, it's not a race issue. It's an issue of you not doing what the fuck you're being paid for. Sorry, still pissed off that this actually happened here where I work.

Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Instead supporting affirmative action we need to improve low-income neighborhoods, their education, and give people and equal chance to succeed.
aceman528 3 months ago
@aceman528 Affirmative action had it's place and became obsolete sometime in the past 15 years. In its inception, it was a way to ensure equal opportunity amongst all citizens. Now, it's just about meeting a quota. My state (hick-ass Arizona) abolished this. We've hopefully transcended the need for govt. coercion when it comes to employment, "It's 2010. Time to act like grown-ups." Black history month in a nutshell: "TEAM A" for 11 months and "TEAM B" for 1 month. How is this fair to anyone?
yamalg 3 months ago
@yamalg Your EXACTLY right! This is the essence of what I've been trying to say, but people are not used to seeing themselves as Americans. We are a group of people have so much going for us, and we continue to bitch and moan to each other about how things suck. You want to learn about sucking countries? Go to, Sudan, Ethiopia, Sierra Leon, Ivory Coast, Central African Republic, Iran, Afghanistan, many places in the "Old" Yugoslavia", old "USSR", China, Mongolia, North Korea. These places Suck!

Our system isn't perfect (seems like it's becoming less perfect since Kennedy), but as it stands we have more of an opportunity here than most people can even dream about.
yamalg 3 months ago
@yamalg That's what I was talking about, the places I mentioned are HELL compared to here. Here ia not perfect, but Here is not THERE. The Sudanese are a beautiful people, but the Warlords, Government, and criminal element are bad beyond imagination. Being in the US is like being at Club-Med for ANY race. Don't believe me make the trip yourself like I did. It will Fucking turn your world upside down.
tyoneal 3 months ago
@tyoneal Exactly, and I find it fascinating that the people who have experienced the worst of humanity often have the most hope and appreciation for the little things. Yugo refugee says "At least your neighborhood wasn't bombed while UN troops stood around doing nothing."

munk, i agree with you that racism still exists, but what do we mean when we use the term? since the civil rights movement, a stratum of black people have been integrated into the system, while things have gotten worse for the poor and working class majority. however, the fact things are worse for the poor today can't be explained by increased racism. it has more to do with economics: deindustrialization, cutting of social programs, decreased federal aid to cities, a weak labor movement, etc.

Easy? no. Possible? Absolutely. I do believe that many in that black communities put their trust in the wrong hands. cont.

You decide what YOU are not me.
tyoneal 3 months ago
@logic39da I need more room to be fair with you, sorry. The damage you speak of is repaired as soon as you decide your moving on and are not going to let the past control your future. I do feel sorry for many of the Blacks in this country, because they have been convinced that they are all victims, and are not capable of being successful in the U.S. I'm sorry for many of your who get all pissed off when someone says the word "Nigger". I don't like the word, but a word is all that it is. (More)
tyoneal 3 months ago

Learn it, and Live it Your whole statement is past.LookForwa
tyoneal 3 months ago
@tyoneal No, not everyone fights to be included, some assimilate. Some blend in. Some of us can't. It doesn't matter how much history you took if you were apparently asleep in class. Again, people like you are so caught in your own head that you refuse to understand anyone other than yourself. You refuse to step back and say "maybe I didn't have all the information". Is long as your mentality exists, the issues that we all have will never go away. Youre apart of the problem.
logic39da 3 months ago
@logic39da If you were born in America, your American. Take the good parts from your past and move forward with them, accept the good parts that here and embrace them, become an American without a hyphen. That is what every successful person has done no matter where they are from. It is essential to learn how to work and grow in the environment that is here, because YOU are here. Saying you can't change is true if you let it be. If that's the case your just making an excuse. That is sad.
tyoneal 3 months ago
@logic39da Of course I am part of the problem, I'm encouraging you to let go of the Bullshit you can't change and learn from it. I'm encouraging you to focus on how to use your time for your Happiness and Success, and that is a bad problem. What I am telling you is the truth no matter what is inside your head or past. Blaming me for something doesn't do you any good, it's just an excuse you use to sit and feel pity about yourself. What the heck does blaming me do to help you? You help Yourself.
tyoneal 3 months ago
@tyoneal People like you always want to focus on how people deal with their issues but not the issues themselves and how they came about. We were singled out and mistreated because of our race for the majority of our time in this country but you cant figure out for the life of you why we might be a little preoccupied with it? smh. Youve got it backwards; us NOT being treated equally is what lead to hyphenation, not US "insisting" on being apart from the whole cont...
logic39da 3 months ago
@logic39da People like me can be found in ALL Races. Like the other post you are always talking about your past, turn your head around and look for your own opportunities for your life and family. You waste your time feeling sorry for yourself. Quit it, the ONLY time you should be worried about is the time you have left. Haven't you ever heard the phrase, "We all have our Cross to Bare?". Now I will grant you that the Government has many assholes in it, They cut us into groups, not me or you.
tyoneal 3 months ago
@tyoneal where is the hyphen? A perfect example...you would like to dictate how I identify myself, yet I have no desire to do the same for you. It's not a "black center". It's the multi-purpose room at the predominantly white Pace University. Your solution is exactly what I'm discussing in this video. Your belief that if we merely call ourselves Americans the poverty, poor decision making, lack of education, etc. will cease. You have a response to a panel that hasn't happened. Relax.
FmunkMOC 3 months ago 10
@FmunkMOC Hey, I'm glad you joined in, thanks. Your right it's NOT the "Black Center", It's the "Black Student Union". I take the word "Black" in the name to refer to a "RACE" and not the color of the building, right? If not I apologize. However if it does refer to RACE then it continues to help propagate the silly differences in our skin color. I think we want the same thing, but I think a "White Student Union", would not be a good idea for the same reason, and it would bother a lot of people.
tyoneal 3 months ago
"Pace University Student Union" , has a nice inclusive ring to it . Blacks being 13% of the population, most places will be predominately something other than Black. The Title of the name of that building doesn't add anything positive to it, it is only another method of reminding people of the esthetic differences of different colors of people. I know you say it is for everyone, and I have no reason to think otherwise, however the building name is not for everyone, that is what is bad about it.

If a black lady was to walk through a relatively white neighborhood, she wouldn't have a problem. Now if a white lady walked through a relatively black neighborhood, she would have some problems.

that is true, people are afraid to speak what's really on their mind and switch around words to make it not sound as bad, how do you tell someone nicely that your breaking up with them or that they have HIV, exactly you can't because the fact still remains, that's why ima be straight up with my kids and encourage them to question things around them, some parents get mad when their children question shit and argue with them, not me, that means your children are intelligent if they ask questions

Do I now present a threat? or is this anger?
digicom666 3 months ago 6
@digicom666 legitimate question. Don't really know how to answer it. I can only speak for myself when I say it's never an issue for me but I've seen some that are affected. I WILL admit that for years my conversation would not contain certain words (i.e. the N word) if I was in mixed company. Made me wonder if I was choosing to live with a double standard. I don't like double standards. So I had to choose to either drop the word or say it freely. I've ALMOST completely removed it from my speech.
FmunkMOC 3 months ago 5
@FmunkMOC EXACTLY! Thank you! Finally. Black people raise hell about white people saying the N-word yet THEY THEMSELVES say it all the fucking time. Hypocrites raising double standards. Sad!
