    Val

  • Wonderful !

Any chance of getting these TABS? And I am not just asking for myself but for the whole Uke community. It would be a wonderful act if you could put together a small book of renaissance guitar peices transcribed for uke. Maybe Ken can work on this with you? I volunteer to be the first buyer!

  • Hi,

I will do some uke tabs, but as said before, most are low g, I think just a few works well in high g, I have to check.

    Regards

    Val

  • Gives the ukulele a whole new personality. Very lofty. You are fantastic playing it.

  • Thanks a lot.

This is easyer for me as I play renaissance guitar since a long time Ukulele is more difficult as it is smaller.

  • I think that generally the guitar music that I have heard you play will work very well on the ukulele. Certainly this piece sounds very impressive.

  • Again, a chance I don't sing along... ;-)

    Thanks Ken !

    Val

  • Fantastic, I really like it. The strums at the beginning are neat :)

It's amazing, the ukulele is not that far away from the renaissance guitar sound-wise.

    Regards, Wilfried

  • I find it easyer to strum on the ukulele than the renaissance guitar (don't know why ?)

    Thanks

    Val

  • I didn't realize the renaissance guitar could be high G. Does all the music fit on high G? If it does I ought to start playing some!

This was played very well, Val. Well done!

  • In fact the fourth course of the Ren. Guit. has on bass an one octave string. Usually bass in on the thumb side (so could be low g) but you can put the octave outside, thumb side and then you're like a high g. James Tyler wrote about this in his introduction of renaissance guitars books by Le Roy and Morlaye. But not all music fit this tuning. You have to try. For example some preludes or contrapuntic fantasias won't accept, but some dances will... Best is to have also a low g uke... ;-)
