  • One of these days I'll probably get the siren on our water tower and restore it. It's a 12-port Model 5.

  • NO THIS IS PROBABLY THE ONLY FIRE DRILL MEETING WE WILL DO THIS WE HAVE PLANS TO BLOW IT @ 12NOON EVERYDAY & BLOW IT FOR FIRES

  • Do you test this for every Fire Drill/Meeting

  • Damn, that thing sounds like a hybrid of a single phase Sentry and a Model 5 with that fast wind down and all lol. Awesome catch Kenny, sucks I missed out on that one!

  • @murrfarms

It's single-phase, repulsion-start. The brushes drag it down a little.

  • @douro20 No it's actually not, it used to have a three-phase high slip 7.5hp motor on it, but it burned up and sat dead on the pole for about 10 years before the guys down there got a hold of it and started restoring it to put back up. They retrofitted a Baldor 7.5hp capacitor start/run motor on it with a special bracket to hold the motor (the tan part that mounts to the pole), and had the shaft extended to fit the rotor. I think there's a video on Kenny's channel here of it without the housing.

  • @murrfarms Here's that video, where you can see the bracket and motor pretty good: watch?v=N6OioeHEsQU

Notice the big square box on the top of the motor, that's what houses the capacitors for it.
