Although everything around is beautiful, she finds she is extremely sad "cuz there is nothing i can do" and "still cant shake you off" if anyone has ever felt heartbroken, you would know that this video is emotional. The E=MC2 promo was good at the beginning (touch my body), then it flopped. For this one, I think the promo has been too long for IWTKWLI, and now, she can't promote HATEU, and the clip is boring. I am happy to see her here, but, it has a real lack of creativity. There is no story visually. :(

This video is a fraud. This is supposed to be a sad song. When I hear this song I don't think about beaches, swimsuits, sunny weather and hot and vibrant colours. Because that's all there is to it - mariah in a swimsuit wandering around the beach. The video has no substance and is completely inappropriate for what is supposed to be a sad love song.
Yes it is supposed to be a sad song and they DO portray it well in the video. Yes, the video is at the beach but does it look like she is having the time of her life at the beach? NO, it looks like she's gone to the beach to have a cry and get away from all the stress. And she shows a lot of emotion in the video. So the video is quite appropriate for the song.
She surely shows emotion, but the whole concept of the video is just poor. The music is amazing, it deserved an amazing video, and this video is far from great. Anyway, whether the video is appropiate or not is a matter of opinion, but if you're a true fan and know her videography well enough, then you have an obligation to know that she can do so much better.
Second, I don't know where Brett Ratner's talent has gone to but it's time to move on and find a different director.

This video doesn't go with the song at all. I really love this song too, and do agree that it was more of a throw back to her start in the early 90's. This video is a fraud. This is supposed to be a sad song. When I hear this song I don't think about beaches, swimsuits, sunny weather and hot and vibrant colours. Because that's all there is to it - mariah in a swimsuit wandering around the beach. The video has no substance and is completely inappropriate for what is supposed to be a sad love song.

Yes it is supposed to be a sad song and they DO portray it well in the video. Yes, the video is at the beach but does it look like she is having the time of her life at the beach? NO, it looks like she's gone to the beach to have a cry and get away from all the stress. And she shows a lot of emotion in the video. So the video is quite appropriate for the song.

She surely shows emotion, but the whole concept of the video is just poor. The music is amazing, it deserved an amazing video, and this video is far from great. Anyway, whether the video is appropiate or not is a matter of opinion, but if you're a true fan and know her videography well enough, then you have an obligation to know that she can do so much better.

The point of the video wasn't to have something big and extravegant, it was to convey the emotion and heartbreak she's going through and you can clearly see it in her facial expressions.
Still my favorite song from the album, I hope it does decent on the charts.

first of all , the song is great and she is the greatest vocalist of all time. Even her current voice could put to shame ANYBODY.
and second of all. yeah you could say that the clip isn't really action based, BUT its the MOST ICONIC clip i've ever seen from her. Its like Don't Speak from no doubt, it's HAUNTING.

I am so disappoi nted. I was expected so much from this amazing song..This is my favourite of the album. What is happening to Mariah? The Emancipation clips were so creative and consistent, this album is consistent to, so why doesn't she express this spirit in her clips? This video doesn't go with the song at all. I really love this song too, and do agree that it was more of a throw back to her start in the early 90's. However, I am sick of seeing Mariah pounce around, showing off her bigger body, as the sun cast shadows across every wave of cellulite her thighs produce. She needs to stop relying on the body she thinks she still has (in thinner times) and focus on the power of the song. Truly, SHE is delusional...

i love her voice, but to be honest I didn't like her video
her plastic cirgury/face lifting is really agressive and though she is excepcionally talented, she should't dress like a 25 year old tryind to look sexy.
people buy her albums because of her voice, her productions and compotisitions, never because of her looks, she should, in my opinion, start dressing like a lady her age.

i think this video is soo hot, she looks fabulous, at one point she even looks like she is crying thats real emotion! anyone can relate to that. i must admitt i miss the 2nd verse though,i think it would have been more fabulous if she did sort of a dont forget about us beach scene with a guy. i think maybe nick had something to do with that lol. but still the song is absolutely gorgeous
