This is one of my favorite movies of the 80's. Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Randee Heller were just brilliant. Oh and I loved Elisabeth Shue, especially her character. Unfortunately, nowadays stupid girls prefer brainless muscular ill-bred playboys with rich cars & zero personality. Sad, very sad. The Karate Kid was wonderful and so realistic film! I miss the 80's

@dp2192 I liked the remake, but it lacked the spirit that the original had. The original was far more loved. Plus Mr. Han was a self-loathing drunk wallowing in his own guilt. That was a major turn-off for the movie. I give it props for the awesome fight scenes though. Also, it stayed very loyal to the original chain of events. Plus they could have just stuck with the title; "The Kung Fu Kid". We would have all gotten the point. Because Kung Fu is not karate. Kung Fu is animal strikes.
@MackenzieMichael The self-loathing was in one scene, under those circumstances I don't think someone would just say oh my family is dead just move on. The would defeat the premise "Life can knock us down, but we can choose to give up." People that are detached usually dont experience getting knocked down because they have no emotion so whatever happens to them they don't care, which means if they hurt people it wouldn't matter (no emotion). The lesson is for actual humans to endure.
Why does Daniel LaRusso never call the cops to report the multiple assaults the Cobra Kai are inflicting upon him? Are the cops Cobra Kai members too?
