Yo check it this song has a message I never really payed attention to. Beats to the rhyme usually is rhyme to the beat if you feelin this in 012 say WORD.
Im just gonna write it any way because i feel at least one person will,
i'm a young rapper whos just trying to keep real music alive..
im different to other rappers and if you check me out i can prove it
I would love nothing more than to have some real fans for my team and a buzz around our music
if anyone who reads this could press the THUMBS UP other people will see it if people didnt give RunDMC a break then they wouldnt be big now.thanks
I used to think this was the sickest beat that I had ever heard when I heard this back in the day, and it's still one of the best beats I have ever heard! Love this beat:)
Sorry new skool, this brothers are like the beattles of HIP HOP, just two turntables and microphone, no fancy studio, just beats and rhimes and a lot of heart and one of the best Dj true history JMJ, my favorite group of all times, still nothing like them!!!!!!!

There was no dought who the kings were back then. Now people fight for the right to be called the king of a region, city state. Run-DMC ruled the world!
Music will never be the same , I hate the music now adays , i dont like my generations music , I DONT want to here about bitches and weed ! , I like these guys cause they dont talk about that shit ! ,
still sounds as fresh as it did when i first heard that the year it came out, respect to the youngsters who listen to the pioneers of hip hop, peace from london england
My generation of hip hop & this just gave me a tingle down my spine after all of these years.....99% of todays so called hip hop is fucking dog shit...no in fact its even more unpleasant than dog shit.
this is some badd ass shit, saw them ´86 at the garden with many of the top figures of the time, after the concert niggas went crazy snatching shit lol that was NYC back then.
According to the RUN DMC biography, this record was a response to the changing of the guard in hip hop. When Run DMC blew, hip hop was still in its embryonic, "Hotel Motel Holiday Inn" stage, so they rhymed slow and simple. But between 86-88, MC's like Rakim, KRS, Ultramagnetic, etc..jumped on the scene with sophisticated rhyme patterns and lyrics, that made Run look ancient over night. This is Run DMC's attempt to tell the hip hop nation that they could keep up with Hip hop's advancement.
"D THATS ME THE KING THE MC! RHYME GET MINE ON THE T.O.P! CAN ANOTHER MC EVER FUCK WITH D?"
this is hip hop. real MC's that rhymed about mic skills. no songs About dances, guns or clothes. just MC's speaking on how they rock the mic. ! this is the foundation of hip hop.
matt1987 forgot to mention Classified makes all his beats and has been underground for the last 11ish years with his own record label Half-Life Records until he recently signed to Sony.
@ftechone You are giving Soulja Boy and Drake way too much credit. Major record labels killed mainstream hip hop at the turn of the century. Help to "put the funk back in it" by making your own hip hop, with your own funky twist while still paying respect to those who started and expanded hip hop. Nuff respect to all the real MC's, B-Boys, Dj's and Writers out there still holding it down.
@ftechone Powers that be killed Real Hip Hop..and now all We have is mainstream B.S..on radio..There's still Talib Kweli and KRS-ONE to keep the battle going.
i wonder how the "classic" rappers would rap if they was growin up in this era...wud they keep their original style or go wit the flow like these so called mainstream rapperz....you would think with time rap got better to some people but i geuss they stuc in the past
@run666 yo i seen them at danceteria in late `84..shit was crazy..place wuz not expecting the crowd that showed up..thats when i knew this hop hop thing wuz guna blow up..big time..
@NYOLSKOOL yo i remmeber they were there but i didnt go that nite. but seen them at the origional ritz ( now webster hall 13 st and 2nd ave) and at the funhouse in 83 when here we go was recorded. history in tha making...
@run666 haha `the ritz`..forgot about that one...i used to go to that pool hall on the corner 4av and e11st... wow thanks for jarring my memory on the `ritz. they did alot of rock shows outa there back in the day.. then when it closed it was something else for a minute before it became webster hall. or maybe they moved the `ritz. cause the one i went to was on 11 st and 4 ave..anyway..good to hear `the ritz` again..see i made more trips than u..hah
@NYOLSKOOL no doubt, i just remember the ritz in the early 80s, and then webster hall after that.. i seen ozzy and a lot of rock shows there was well.. then the real studio 54 on 54th and 8th ave turned into the ritz in 1989 and i seen ice cube, ice t, house of pain, and living coulur there. man, manhatten was tha best..
@run666 manhattan was where i lived...and i caught the last 3-4 years of old studio...and xenon...now the freakin meat market is the spot..that was my main hood in the 80`s and was a shit hole back then..
@NYOLSKOOL yeah i was a little to young for xenon and studio 54. but was at studio in 83-84 when it was reopened after the origional owners in 77-80.
but was also at roxy, funhouse, tunnel. octagon, marrs, bedrocks, palladium and crazy eddies... the best was probbaly funhouse, and roxy and i liked the tunnel.
@NYOLSKOOL also u have the maddest beats on ur web page. damm u got tha beats. the b girls 'beware" i remmeebr trippin on purple mesc to that one in the clubs.. lol
@taylor4660 was it really? i would of liked to seen that. if it were the same show i was at RUN-DMC only did 2 songs cause of a maddd brawl broke out... so we left there and went to nells on 14th st and i remember bugging out to that song larrys theme from grandmaster flash. la la la la larry love. la la la la la larry love.. lol
