I don't understand, if you can carve such a wonderful fish why paint it? is it because the wood is not good enough to show of the grain. A nice piece of wood carved as well as that wood look fantastic with just a bit of varnish or polish
what is your faverit wood to use and what do you use to seal the wood and how do you get the inside of the mouth detailed do you cut off the lower part of the mouth ?
Must be expensive piece, that is unless you have a source, or fell and harvest your own wood.... Outstanding piece!
