i have a future beach trophy 126 kayak do you think i could use this one white water? this is the only kayak i have left and im dieing to get out on a river again.
That was great. I want to get into this kind of thing, can you tell me how much years of experience you guys had before you could do runs like this? Cheers
i would love to go this river what state is it in? and when would the best time to go spring, summer, year round? is it spring fead or is there a dam thats running the flow of water?
@211gonzo The Stony is in Northern Minnesota... nearest city is Babbit. This is a spring snow melt run or heavy Fall rain run. We have run this the third weekend in April most springs. One year it was early May. 2010 it did not run at all. We are fortunate to live in Minneapolis so can reach the river when it is running and get there before the flow is over.
"The Box" is the 3rd major drop... roughly, and I mean very roughly speaking it is about 3 1/2 mile past the put in bridge. It follows a class III bolder garden type rapids. The river narrows and the horizon drops. Portage is on RL.
