  • I feel like Joseph, a prisoner in my own life. My branch is dead and withered. The only thing to do is pray and hope God will come and turn my dead branch into a beautiful blooming tree. Sometimes, faith is just so hard..

  • I love this song. It's got such a simple melody and easy to follow lyrics, and it's pretty. Not to mention it's got an excellent message. Even if some of us don't believe in God, some believe in fate which believe it or not is a goddess of legend. Basically it's saying we don't know, we have no idea what's best for us but maybe someone out there does and is looking out for us.

  • wow i just love this song it just makes my heart race

  • @hammer250492, jesus isnt God. Joseph came thousands of years before him. He's just a jew like joseph and moses and even the skg who made them into movies (spielberg katzenberg, greenberg) with the movie industry its all jews all the time :)

  • @TiaTootsStudios That's not necessarily true, Catholics do believe Jesus is God. Father, Son, Holy Spirit, all the same thing. I don't personally believe that but hey some people do.

  • My favorite song from my favorite traditionally animated dreamworks movie. Actually, i like all the songs. :)

  • you know something i always asked questions to god saying why did you send this person in my life or why did you take this person i hold so dear away from me i now see that he only knows i am not meant to know why he does the things he does because it is true he really knows better than any of us i just wished i had realized it sooner

  • Shit happens in life. The only sure thing in my life is God's love. Thankfully, he has gotten me through quite a lot. No matter what happens, good or bad, he has been there for me. My mom getting sick, my best friend passing away (what I thought was too soon), my pawpaw passing away and me not being able to be there with my family, and me moving 2100 miles from home. He is my strength. He knows best.

  • This song is about God, but Christians think it's about Jesus. It's a shame people do not know their God. I can no more be my father than he can be me, the same can be said for Jesus.

  • @zazagabora2 jesus is god

  • Father I love you, even though You've hurt me more than anything has in my whole life. I don't understand why You took my dad home so early, why he'll never get to see me date or see his grandchild..I'll never be able to understand..but I have felt You with me every minute of of the day since, You've cried with me, and You've loved me when I screamed at you in rage. When all human logic demanded I leave You, I felt hopelessness at the thought. I love You, let them call me a fool if they wish.

  • What a fantastic piece of art!

    Unbelivebly beautiful!

  • Haha, typical shit show in the comments.

  • like no joke 3:09 puts chills down my spine every time! just gotta love this song

  • I always listen to this song when I'm feeling down. I just got news that my grandmother died last night. Listening to this song really puts me at peace, knowing she's going to a better place. I just have to trust God :)

  • This is my class song, we sing it everytime :D

  • My daughter loves this song!!!!

  • This music is awesome, I wouldn't say it reafirms everyones fatih in the Abrahamic traditions such as Christianity,Judaism, or Islam, but it does spark something inside, perhaps it's ones trust in someone close to them not necessarily a God or even just finding ones own inner strength to deal with a long road ahead,I'm not looking for a Religion vs Science debate/fight so don't start one unless you're that guy, because everyone hates "That Guy",just STFU and enjoy the music okay? okay

  • I love this movie.

  • God,Jesus, Holy Spirit are the same and the only God

  • God knows better than us. Jesus is not God. He is a prophet of God. Only God is God.

  • actually jesus was God and God came to earth and disguised himself as jesus

  • thay need to start making good touching movies like this again instead of this hannah monatana, shake it up crap (shows) they need to stop makeing pointless crap movies

  • im a satanist and i love this song.

  • ive been waiting for something to happen, and i was starting to run out of patience. but this song has given me hope and encouragement to just put faith and trust in God. He makes the impossible possible, so why shouldnt i trust Him? haha :)

  • It's a beautiful song. :) Wouldn't it be nice if people could just enjoy the song instead of always having a religious debate? God loves everyone... chillax :)

  • This song is what muslims believe, we beleive in God's will. I love this song, It is so uplifting and every time something bad happens you should just listen to it, it is a soothing balm.

  • amazing song...

  • Our lives maybe in a storm-like situations from time to time, but believe that God is working on the sideline. Because in all things, and situations, my God knows better. :)

  • no waaaaaaaay, how could u picture the prophets in cartoon movies?? plus Joseph was the most handsome man in the universe<< i'ts not possible 2 picture him X-(

  • ahh i needed this, ive been kinda distant from you lately Lord. forgive me and restore my faith, Holy Spirit fall afresh upon me.

  • may the lord guide you in the good way and use you as one of his messengers to show the example and the world of our lord Jesus Christ amen :) peace be with you

  • @THESKATERFROMMAUI I'm right there with you.. Pray for me as I pray for you my friend.

  • @THESKATERFROMMAUI ...HOLD on!! our labor from the Lord is not in vain!..

  • had a dream about this song and i havent even watched it!

  • i don't even know what i believe anymore, but this song still resonates deeply with my soul

  • @FreeMyMind96 If this song speaks to you...Then may it touch your heart my friend.

  • I could listen to this song a thousand times, and I highly doubt I'd ever get tired of it.

  • God does no better. Enchantful song and

    Movie. :)

  • Absolutely Beautiful song

  • the songs about God, Jesus wasn't born yet :P

  • @LilRC181 Jesus was with God at the beginning. The gospel of John 'In the beginning was the word (Jesus) and the word was made flesh'.

  • @Parric74 The Gospel of JOhn is revisionist history of Genesis 1:1-12 , where GOD spoke the Command and the Word and everything else was then created. The word is a servant and created of GOD it is not HIS equal go to Deuteronomy 5:5-7 . There is no one Besides the LORD (YHVH) GOD. Also the story of JOseph is in Islamic Koran too.

  • The 31 people that disliked this have no heart. This song is about Jesus. <3 :) ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

  • Wow. I wish more gospel songs were like this where it teaches us about our mistakes, how much we think we know and how much God already knows and plans he makes to help fix your mistakes. As opposed to just shouting and screaming his name and how good he is and not giving a good explanation why he's so good half the time. That and the fact that they're starting to bring secular music with gospel. that's why I don't like modern day gospel or anything else modern actually.

  • love it awesome

  • I watched this in class, I liked it. :) My class had to watch it too.

  • The people who dislike this song song its about GOD so those people SUCK!!!!

  • Brings me to tears every time.

  • i wanna kno the song his wife sang wen he put is brother in the prison i made up 10 different names 4 it now if some1 can tell me what it is thatll be great

  • @princessrocroyal its Bloom the reprise version:) i believe its the song josephs mother sang at the beginning when he told his brothers his dream about him being above them and what not and they argued and she sang that, its just a reprise version:):)

  • @NarokiDream ....dude i say the movie....i jus wanted 2 kno the name of the song and the weirdest thing is that as soon as i posted this i saw the song and its bloom bloom and you'll grow

  • @princessrocroyal ...so i didn't help?

  • @NarokiDream ...srry but no

  • This is my favorite cartoon song...I love it so emotional this song has a soul...:D

  • I think when you face temptation you should remember Joseph did he is so Obedient to the Lord.

  • A Heart Breaking story, Joseph is my inspiration against temptation God Bless.

  • I can see 31 people going to hell on the like/dislike bar

  • man i remember hearing this song in the commercial for it on one of my old whs never knew what it was but loved it. now to hear the full song...I think i may cry

  • I am not a Christian and yet joseph prince of dreams and prince of egypt are 2 of my all-time favourite films. I just wish that people would live and let live and stop criticizing others. Believe whatever you want to believe as long as it holds good will to others. I think these films have very powerful messages and you don't have to believe in God to see that. Lets just try and respect each other's opinions. Blessings to you all.

  • made me cry..Thank you Jesus even it is painful..I will obey for YOU know better that I...

  • @MyCelesti Jesus wasn't even born in that time lol

  • Atheist, and loving this.

  • U know Joseph is a good person to look up to. He is one of the few people in the Bible to never have a sin recorded. We know he did sin but his love and obedience toward God is what shines out the most. He fled from Potiphar's wife we she was trying to seduce him. He has great integrity a rare thing now a days.

  • @tregorn he sinned in greed, lust sort of, well he was spoiled and well yea...

  • @millissa101 where is the greed and where is the lust and being spoiled is not his fault its his father's. He never asked for his brothers hatred but God used him and saved a nation. God rules.

  • @tregorn that's true

  • Check out behind the scenes at TheForerunner777's channel.

  • I just found out today that an old classmate has been killed in a car accident today. I'm so confused and hurt and I don't understand why God would have taken him so soon, with no warning or apparent reason. But I know and have the faith that God has an answer and a plan for this, and that it would bring glory to Him and immerse the world in His love. He knows the reason and what He's doing, so I will put my trust in him. RIP Wesley Danko, we'll see you again.

  • favorite song

  • I would simply love to learn to play this on piano. Wonder where I could get any sheet music.

  • One of a kind that song is

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hated what his brothers did.

  • @lawofficers Every one needs prayer, including those that have lost their way. You only find the way to God when he calls you, never on your own. I love this song though, it's lesson is very true, and a shame people don't follow it

  • @RyuuSheng omg i so agree, but i think that you need to want god first for him to help, like it has to come from you first, because god gave us free will it means alot more to him if we go to him first, its more special. "if i let you reach me will you teach me''

  • ;~; that "you" = God... First he asked why does God punish him like that... And now he found out that God knows what's better and what to do... Ofc :) luv this!

  • i like the flashbacks:)nlove this songgg

  • Makes me tear up everytime

  • I'm going through some stuff, and I really needed to hear this song today. Thank you so much for putting it up, kalilahka!

  • My life's song...

  • @2:45 <3

  • got to admire him

spent his entire time in prison taking care of a tree

doubt I would have the patience

  • i swear this was the best song from the movie

  • this is one of those songs that gives me the goose bumps :)

  • Thumbs up if you rememer this and still watchin in 2011..love it

  • @neaneaallday I'd never seen it until yeterday :) but it's got a beautiful soundtrack

  • how can anyone dislike this?

  • @brenttauro they're athiest

  • @brenttauro how many brothers did joseph have again? i guess 30

  • @1154surfergrl what? no! 12 bro

  • @brenttauro haha i know:) i was just referring to the number of dislikes...which is now 31

  • @1154surfergrl Oh! That's funny and sad at the same time :|

  • @brenttauro godless heathens mostly

  • @jakejamesgx3 That's a bit judgmental, don't ya think? I'm atheist and I love this movie...

  • @Raechel97 ur not the first person i've seen with that comment, i think aybody can like any song regardless of the conditions or creeds that they follow.

  • @Raechel97 If you think about it though... Who is the majority of people that go on videos of Christian songs and movies, such as this, to Dislike and hate on it?

Radical Athiests, the ones that have names like "iHateJesus666" and "AthiestMan412" who have a favorites list of videos of people preaching the Theory of Evolution, and people breaching their disbelief in God, that go around Youtube saying how Christians are brainwashed slaves everywhere... Not the average Athiests, such as yourself.

  • @XxSeanOfDeathxX That is extremely true, and I completely agree with what you're saying, and honestly it does make me mad when other Atheists spread around blatant hatred of Christians. I think people should be able to believe what they want and have their own opinions, and at the same time, respect others' views. And you're right, many Atheists don't respect Christians. But at the same time, many Christians don't respect Atheists. Respect really is a two-way thing.

  • @Raechel97 lately i am confronted with the problem of being tolerant and talking about my believe as if this truth is only true for me although it is the truth for everyone, if he believes it or not. we gotta tell them it is more than just a personal oppinion because that it what we're here for. it is not about being right but about saving the people because we love them

  • @mgthale well again, the issue is respect. if you're talking to someone about beliefs, and they're open to listening to your argument/points, then go right ahead. but at the same time, if the person already has their own beliefs (whether they're different from yours or not), people should respect that, and let others believe what they want, even if you think it's wrong. it's called understanding and tolerance.

  • @Raechel97 sure we have to respect if they dont want to believe what we do but we have to at least tell the world because otherwise we are to blame if they go to that place no one wants to talk about anymore... tolerance could be the reason for millions of people going to hell!!! (although many christians will hate me for saying that but if you read the bible and see it as the word of god there is no doubt about that)

  • @mgthale I can see where you're coming from and I completely understand what you're saying, and I think that the best way to go about a situation like that, is to speak what's on your mind, and if the person accepts what you're saying then great, and if not, you know you at least tried to help and maybe the person will accept it in their own time.(: But that's just what I've experienced personally.

  • @brenttauro They're probably muslim, hehe.

  • @25151206 The story of Joseph is in the Quran too :-) It's all the same.

  • @AngelShdwL That's not surprising, considering the koran was written 600 years after Jesus died.

  • @25151206 Yep, you are correct :) My point was just saying muslims wouldn't dislike the video.

  • @AngelShdwL Cool.

  • i love this part of the movie. something about him nursing that tree is very meaningful.

  • I cried watching this. D;

  • @saliktor It's not Disney.

  • Loner you are so uhhhhh

  • I love this song the first time I heard it I was three and I still remember it :) :)!

  • I love how humble he looks at the end. Still one of my favorites <3

  • When i hear this song i think of people who die young. Who are taken to early and i always think " why did you have to take them!!! They'er to young!!" but then i relise that god has a plan for everyone and He knows best. Although some times its hard and sad you have to remember God Knows better and it can only get better from here :)

  • I remember watching this film when I was little, the memories

  • Portuguese version /watch?v=CXlGE9le304

  • I´m not religious, but what had it done? Religious had done terrible things. but just the world is in peace now! Why war? Why kill`? Why not do this world better as once. We could learn so much of religious and the same for them. But we are all 1.... sorry for wasting your time, you have a job to do.^^

    Have a nice day

  • @multidarwin18 You say religion has done terrible things, but have you seen the videos posted on youtube recently of chinese adults beating a little child to death, or the video where a chinese motorist runs over a little girl, passers by saw her get run over and no one helped her, and then some other asshole in a truck ran over her feet?

  • @multidarwin18 Guess what, it's illegal to be religious in china. Even ancient chinese religions are being persecuted against by the government. Do you see now what lack of faith or religion does? Also, north korea has outlawed religion, and there are millions of people starving there, and thrown into concentration camps just because they don't agree with the government.

  • "Guess what, it's illegal to be religious in china. Even ancient chinese religions are being persecuted against by the government. Do you see now what lack of faith or religion does?" - 25151206

How the hell does "lack of faith" cause that?

  • @HiddenFacedMatt Wow, are you serious? You're seriously refusing to see what is right in front of your face? Just recently, 20 chinese adults ganged up on a little 2 year old kid, beating the child to death. I can guarantee you that no religious or faithful person would ever do that to a child. Also, it's illegal to be religious in china, so religious moral standards don't apply there, like it does in other countries. Don't be so blind

  • @HiddenFacedMatt "what if they thought god told them to?" Even Muslims would question a god who tells them to beat a child to death.

"Yet plenty of people there are. Their government can't control everything"

Yet anyone who practises any religion in china do so underground due to the barbaric and atheistic nature of persecution against anyone with religion.

  • @HiddenFacedMatt "Depends on what religion, and then on interpretation"

Every religion teaches peace between other people and with their God. It is undenialbly proven that this is the case. Even children are capable of interpreting all religions in this way. What you really mean is it depends on people if they want to follow their religion properly or not, or if they just want to abuse religion to have their own way, which contradicts all religious teachings. I'm not blind, you are.

  • "Every religion teaches peace between other people" - 25151206

EVERY religion? Given the ambiguous separation between "religious" beliefs and other beliefs, and the already numerous things considered religions, that's a questionable assertion to make.

"What you really mean is it depends on people if they want to follow their religion properly or not" - 25151206

Who gets to say what counts as proper? It's all a matter of assumption.

In any case, the relevant point is the EFFECT of religion.

  • @HiddenFacedMatt There's nothing questionable about it. If you look at the worlds top 5 religions, Christianity, islam, hinduism, buddhism and judaism, you'll see that the strongest teaching in all of these religions is peace between you and other people. That is fact, not make believe "spaghetti monster" nonsense, as you would so readily like to believe.

  • Top 5 religions =/= all religion. @25151206

And with how to translate OR interpret the bible so commonly disputed (look at debates over 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 for example) who gets to say which are the "true" and which are the "twisted" versions of the bible?

You say the "effect" of religion is to teach us to live in peace. That's only in theory. In practice it's often the opposite. Just like communism doesn't work in practice as it does in theory.

  • @HiddenFacedMatt The world top 5 religions are not all the worlds religions, as there are many more religions and belief systems out there.

There is no way to dispute the intended meaning or translation of corinthians 6 9-10. It is very clear that anyone who does wrong in the sight of God will not inherit the kingdom of god. However, if we just believe in christ and and repent, we can be given eternal salvation

  • Way to miss the point. The more commonly disputed aspect of Corinthians is whether it means to include "homosexuals" among the groups of people that won't get into heaven, or whether it was a mistranslation of something that was originally intended to refer to male prostitutes. @25151206

  • @HiddenFacedMatt I didn't miss the point. As for your question, corinthins states that the sexually immoral(i.e., those who have sex outside of marriage, straight, gay or bi) and men who have sex with men, will not inherit the kingdom of God. However, we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of god, meaning that none of us are better than anyone else. If you just believe in Christ and repent of your sins(repent meaning to turn away from sin) you will be saved

  • @HiddenFacedMatt Also, it is impossible to twist the truth.

By the way, might I remind you that you're the one who started talking about the "effect of religion"? All of the worlds religions teach us to live in peace with each other. This is undeniable fact, and people follow those teachings, whatever the religion may be. However, there are other people who use religion as a way to control and manipulate others, which goes against the teachings of all religions.

  • You just admitted that there are religions other than the main five. It may be an idea to stop calling "all" the religions in the world sharing X teachings "undeniable." @25151206

The point is, people using said religion that way is an effect of religion, even an indirect one. The question is, to what extent does religion benefit, in ways that other things would not, to be worth the harm that has been done by, in your interpretation, "improper" religion?

  • @HiddenFacedMatt Not sure if i actually replied to this comment or not. It's been a trying period over the last few weeks with the death of my Grandmother. Although it's a sad occurence that she had to die, in a way, I'm glad that she did die, rather than survive and lose her dignity and self respect through reliance on others to keep her clean and healthy(She was hit by a massive stroke)

  • @HiddenFacedMatt Although this past christmas period has been trying for my family and myslef, it has strengthened our faith in God. Now concerning your comment, I have never once said that there are only 5 religions and faith structures in the world, but I DID say "The top 5 religions" referring to the 5 religions which have the most followers/believers. There are others, and the majority of them teach the same thing, i.e. treat your neighbours with respect.

  • @HiddenFacedMatt This is undeniable because it is simple fact, just as saying that the stars, sun and moon change positions in he sky is simple fact. Religions do not teach us to disrespect one another, just read any religious book, and you will undeniably see this to be true. If you have translation issues which cause you to question what is being said, then learn the language used for the original texts and translate it for yourself i.e. the Bible, learn hebrew and greek, etc.

  • @HiddenFacedMatt People are imperfect, and we constantly hurt each other, either intentionally or not. When someone hurts someone else, they look to blame it on something other than themselves in order to make themselves right in their own mind. When we do this, sometimes we will take a text from a religiouos book, and use it to justify our sinful actions, eg, cont....

  • @HiddenFacedMatt the Bible teaches in the old testament about the proper treatment of people who become slaves. People used this to justify the slave trade which was ended over 200 years ago, saying "The bible condones it because it talks about it" Yet the main message from the bible is that God wants to free us from slavery, not allow us to enslave others. So which is right, the words of a few men who had s&m tendencies, or the words of a Holy book?

  • @HiddenFacedMatt As for people properly following their religion, I'm talking about people following the teachings of their religious books and qualified religious teachers, as opposed to following twisted and distorted teachings of people who only want to generate hate between their own community and others. Anyone can see the proper way to behave in society, and around other people. Being an atheist, surely you wouldunderstand that to some extent.

  • @HiddenFacedMatt As for the "effect" of religion, the only effect religion has on our lives is to teach us to live in peace with one another, and to guide us in peaceful living, as well as guiding us in the worship and faith of our chosen deity or god.

  • @HiddenFacedMatt However, there are PEOPLE who would use, twist and distort religion in order to have their own way and power over others who may be less educated than them. In this situation, religion is not at fault, because the religious values and teachings remain the same as they always were. It would be the people twisting religion for their own purposes who would be at fault.

  • i love youtube... I'm in college now, and just had the sudden urge to relive my childhood and revamp my faith. i needed this. thank you God.

  • This is definitely one of my life songs! Love it!

  • i cry every time i see the scene when he walks out that door and looks back at the tree one last time

  • This movie taught me how to revive dying plants! :D

  • This and Moses the Prince of Egypt were some of my favourite films when I was a kid. I'm not religious at all and could never be part of a movement so hypocritical like Christianity, but this song is just so wonderful.

Peace to everyone, love and cherish each other.

  • @laifmokkeri Tell me what's hypocritical about christianity

  • at least he gets to keep his semi clean cloth skirt thing.

  • @Disneythievesrock, exactly. Ppl are just so arrogant and spiteful. The songs supposed to be joyful lol.

  • Why can't we ever comment on the song rather than the religion behind it?

Like, for example, how did Joseph keep his hair so clean?

  • Never blame Him for the mistakes of man. Christianity and Christians are 2 different things. I know atheists who are better social people than Christians and I know Christians who are just Christians by name and birth not by deeds and personality. God is good and God loves us all whether you believe in Him or not. He wants us to love each other according to Jesus's Commandment of Love. But He would really appreciate it if everybody starts to believe in Him and love Him.

  • 28 dislike.....WHY ??? are you cyborg people or you dont have a heart ??

  • I suppose the stake was God and the tree symbolizes his growth and knowledge with each trial (stone laid) he endured. As he trusted in God he grew and learned.

  • This was my jam back in the day lol !

  • God do what You will, for you know better than I.

  • THIS FUCKIN' SONG MADE ME CRY !!! :'( a lot of times!!!!

  • Even when things don't go my wayGod always has a plan, a way out.

  • @girloffaith16 Too true sista :)

  • I'm utterly confused by "atheists" liking this song. Because it completely contradicts all of atheism... All of it.

  • @NerdExtrodinare Let's take rap into consideration. You might not like drinking, parties, sex, etc., but you might still like the song. Let's just say that this song is great and has true meaning behind its lyrics.

  • @thegaraguru But... I don't like rap... At all... Because it is about drinking, sex, murder, and rape. The only rap song that's even passable is "Where's The Love" and even that I'm annoyed by the calling of the CIA Terrorists.

  • @NerdExtrodinare

    You haven't heard much rap.
