Rats are extraordinarily clean creatures, and they are affectionate and loving. I have three sitting in my lap right now, and climbing around on my bed. They eat my food and play in my sleeping space, and share my bedroom with me. They have a cage which is large enough for 6. Why would anyone do that for a dirty creature? Wouldn't I be sick, if they eat my food? I'm not. They're clean, loving pets.

@RadianteXY wonder what that means for me as I also have 3 dogs, one staffie and 2 chihuahuas, 2 tarantulas, bearded dragon, 2 geckos, 3 ferrets, fish, rabbit and cat :/

@andreacuthbert mmm not easy to decide, I guess XD I think you are not counting fleas, tick, and who knows what else similar ^^ (I know, you are going to say that there aren't, or that they are not pet XD, but they still live with you :))

Anyway, look yourself at mirror and then decide who, of your friends (including fleas and tick, if there are), is more similar to you. I am sure, there is the embarrassment of the choice!!!!! :D

Also, I'd like to add; rats are one of the cleanest animals ever. They clean them selves all the time, keep their cages really clean, are very picky on food they eat, they only like fresh food. Just because rats on the streets live in sewers and eat trash doesn't mean ALL rats are like that. They dont LIKE doing that, but HAVE TO to live. There's homeless people that do the same, does that mean ALL humans like sleeping on the streets? NO. You obviously know NOTHING about rats. Pathetic.

You're ALL dumbasses. Look up the plague. Rats THEM SELVES didn't cause it. It was fleas on them, that's not their fault. dirty AND clean animals can get them. Fleas DO NOT care if the animal is clean or dirty. They drink their blood, dont suck on their skin. So typical for humans to blame anything they can. Rats wernt the only animals that carried the fleas, they just spread them the fastest because they lived in sewers and spread out everywhere. LEARN BEFORE YOU SPEAK

I know this sounds kind of stupid, but it kind of offended me when you said "You're ALL dumbasses" instead of considering us who also share knowledge of rats? I'd also like to add, the rattus novegus did not carry the plague, rattus rattus did.

fleas? your the dumbass lol theey spread the diesease with their dirtiness my dog is clean and it dont have fleas but my mates dog is a really dirty one and you can see the fleas jumping out of it the main reason the plague was caused was the contamination of the food

yah, but these here are PET rats, rats clean themselves and they like to be clean doesn't mean they're completely germ free. and pet rats don't have diseases fool.
