Behind the Scenes: Vancouver

I lived in Vancouver for ten years. Much of the backdrop for the show was territory I traveled through and observed on a daily basis. For all it's warts and flaws, I love Vancouver. I'm especially proud of the fact that the people that came together to create this show learned and worked on a lot of American projects, only to go on and make a wonderfully honest show with Vancouver's spirit and humanity intact that's better than 99 % of the best U.S. TV series ever made.

When he was making the show, Haddock always had a talent for making the criminal acts political, and the politics seem criminal. Such is the talented writer and director that he is.

I never had any desire to visit Vancouver (even tho i am 1/2 Canadian) but now i would like to visit. I always look forward to re-runs on the Slueth channel. Too bad Hulu only has the 1st 2 seasons posted and I don't know where to see later ones..

A brilliant, honest show that looks at crime and death in Vancouver warts and all. Sadly, 2009 is seeing a high-body count drug war in our city that could have kept the series going for 5 seasons.
