In episode A DAY IN THE LIFE a man asks Gabrielle if Xena ever thinks about settling down and getting married and Gabrielle replies "no, Xena likes what I do." then xena throws a fish in her face before she can say anymore. Later on said man's girlfriend tells Xena that Gabrielle is hers. Xena looks at gabrielle all weird like "yeh true that."

Last season shows that is obvious they have an special bound and are together. However many would have liked to see more of the physical part, but the series wasnt all about that and the mambo jambo after all.
