Well it was good for me until now, when I turn my pc on the graphics card makes a very loud noise and the screen won't pick up. I would say the fan is gone and will need to buy a new graphics card. If anyone knows what's wrong with it tell me.

@Intanius Remember the 196.75 forceware drivers? They killed video cards and that left many people shit out of luck. I was one of them. I have owned 5 Nvidia cards all of which died. I have owned 2 Ati cards that are still working. Both companies have great performance but I just got sick of throwing money at Nvidia. I have seen some funky stuff with Ati drivers but I have seen problems with Nvidia drivers too.
I love both ATi and nVidia. I'm going with the GTX 470 over a 5870 because it's about $70 cheaper and I can overvolt it much easier and get much higher FPS than the 5870. I still love ATi though!
if you want to use win7's dx11, you need 5850 and above~ that series is the only 1 with dx11 support from ati~ i dono abt 5830 but i'm sure about 5850 and 5870 and 5970 and above are dx11 competible~
i wonder a chieftec psu of 750 watt says its for crossfire and sli well in m case iam wondering if i can make crossfire from 4870s and is 750 watt gonna be enough or what cause its quite complicated when i hear in tiger direct the guy says atleast 850 watt for one !
@KronoReaper no, ur processor will bottle neck it, get a good named 500W power supply and get a E7200 or E8400 but if u can get AMD 720x3, the AMD 720x3 @ 3.1GHz out performs a E8400@3.9GHz, replay back
@SgticeOnCp well get the 4850x2 if you can, it only falls behind the 4870x2 by a few fps e.g crysis, its like 2-4 fps behind, make sure u got a good processor and good power supply replay :D
just to add for some people who dont know >>> but for ATI crossfire technology, the 2 cards' processing power do add up and give better fps and more eye candy frmo AA and others (allowing you to max most of the games' graphics settings)~ but the memory doesnt add up when you crossfire 2 cards~

why they would give you some gddr5 if its would be unsable the gddr5 run with more of frequency than the gddr3 anyway if you look at the new sapphire ati 4870 1gb with the vapor heatsink search the model vapor-x ITS SICK its has liquid coolant and its produce vapor but this card is not very energy saver you see its need 2x a 75watt cable from the power supply and a minimum of 500watts

No you do not need an upgrade.. the 9800 GTX X2 is still a top of the line video card.. and you only run 1680x1050 anyway.. The GTX 280 is not much better then the HD 4870 1GB and it cost a whole lot more.. For people with older cards.. 8800 series.. You will notice a huge difference if you upgrade to the HD 4870 1GB.. The GTX280 is maby 5% faster but the HD 4870 will run AA much better then the GTX280.. so best bang for the buck at this time will be the HD 4870 1GB at only $150

Yeah for example if u have a 22'' or 24'' LCD monitor go for the 1 GB for resolution (1650x1050) or higher .. but if you are working on a smaller monitor (17'' or 19'' ) the 512 MB is more than enough

At the moment, I think you should get DX11 cards like the HD5850/70 or HD5770...
But I think you'll get better performance with two HD4850 as with an HD4870!

When a CPU has multiple cores, the speed doesn't add up.
So you will have a triple core CPU running at 2.2Ghz not 6.6Ghz.
Remember to get a good quality PSU, like from Thermaltake, Corsair, OCZ..etc

Not really. The 4870 x2 cpsts about 1.75x more and it isn't exactly twice as good, but it is pretty close.

Hey anton if you wasn't such a poor fuck then you'd be able to afford a good system to run vista on, if you can actually afford it then vista flys and with more service packs coming out the bugs and fixes are going just like xp was going through, not every fucking OS comes out perfect when it's released dick mouth. It's runs better now and protects your system better than XP ever did. Oh and they continue to realease it due to people like you, who never gave vista a chance.

Well maybe you mist this but Microsoft is gonna release their new OS (Windows 7) and its just windows Vista but with less bugs and shit... So if Microsoft decides to lauch this OS just for fixing a lot shit in Vista then they will agree with me that Vista wasn't a good OS that everybody loves... But I hope windows 7 will be better and than I will upgrade... I have still XP just because I didn't want Vista, so I skip the crap and upgrade to Windows 7...

lol anton all of those can be blamed on the ignorance of people just thinking vista is bad when it isnt. The only downfall of vista is how much more processor power it needs to run but if you have a good pc it doesn't matter. Vista is more secure than xp in every way and its better in almost every aspect EXCEPT performance, which you won't notice if you have a decent pc.

Correction Vista is more secure than XP, has DX10 and new OpenGL, more support for new hardware. This car for example would run better on Vista than XP because it's designed for it.

Meh, I wouldnt say its laggy, or slow, its a new OS , its gonna need a system that can handle it, and if your system isnt up to par then you have no business in purchasing it, I personally have had no problems with it being slow, even on my old 4200+x2 rig, it could be better yeah, but i wouldnt go as far as saying it sucks and is the worse OS out there like many people claim it to be, Windows 7 will hopefully be better, but to each his own
