Great stuff. Dwight and Roy used to do this routine quite a bit and it was always popular. I've a recording of them running it at the Prestatyn Soul Weekender, broadcast live on Radio 1 - to be honest I think they were even better on that occasion, with Dave Metcen on bass (better than William Allen IMO).
Oooh...my...self. THIS is pure genius at work. Nothing but god powers from within pouring out. Supreme moves by supreme men. I love my brothers when they shine like this! And how easy they make it look!
@MrLlamaPro, yes, they're all played the same cause they're all basically the same instrument, but with varying sizes, materials, sounds, and numbers of octaves.
@pcelayes Yes, the vibraphone has a foot pedal to deaden the sound when you want, and it also has a motor that spins disks inside the pipes beneath the keys that can be adjusted to whatever speed vibrato you want.
I swear that Roy Ayers looks like a twin brother of a Gambian back in the day. Anybody that ever saw Abou Sallah's style (not a musician) but the face, expressions and jokes?
Incredible !! I saw roy ayers in 2003... one of the best concerts of my life. I gotta get this DVD asap !! Cool to see zachary breaux 's playing a gretsch too lol

@WeaselLiesel That's almost right, but I think the vibraphone has also some pedals that allow to control the sustain... or that's what I've heard ;)
