Also, when he advertises the colors he advertises them as multicolored, but when he makes them, they are all one color, unlike what you ordered. Google false advertising if you don't understand what it means.

The way to order a tail is from his online thing. You will need your measurements and a color picked as well as which tail type. His email is on that site to if you have questions or comments.
I asked a few things and got answer's that day or the next day (if I sent them later in the night).
What really knocks my socks off is the fact that YOU ARE NOT EVEN A CUSTOMER OF MERTAILOR. IF YOU LOOK at the video closely, you will see only one, just one tail that looks bad, which is the orange tail in the end, which was actually taken apart by the customer. There was a post on a forum and email from the customer admitting that they tore apart the tail. By doing this, they ruined their tail which made it look HORRIBLE! If you think you've done your research, think again.

NO ur wrong, erics tails r awesome. Me and eric had a converstaion and emailed each other about my tail. He was very polite and patient. the tail i wanted was practicly an exact repilica of the one i wanted. i got the latex one by the way, and it fits like a glove! YOU GUYS R WRONG!!

That's really stupid. If the tail is wrong and doesn't fit, it's the dude's fault. HE should be willing to fix it for free. Especially since you can't just take it to a seamstress.. They have no idea how he even made it.
I got a little screwed by mertailor too. He replied to one email about it but after that I'm getting ignored so he's not willing to help fix his mistakes! The paint is fading away after 3 swims and the monofin shows really bad (the outline of it which they don't show in his pictures) his scales are sloppy. Sometimes they're ill-fitting or colored wrongly, but they're known for coming apart and tearing only after a few months. For something that you pay $500-$1000 for, they should be pretty damn good.. Not only that, but he should include SOME type of warranty so people can at least get them repaired, since no one besides him knows how to fix them! People should just stop buying from this guy. His work is bad

@SparkShowOfficial I do agree that some of his tails didn't come out that bad, but I think it's his false advertising and sometimes screwing up the orders that makes everyone mad. He edits his pictures on photoshop to make the tails look better, and he makes the ones he advertises differently so the fluke part is more stiff. Sometimes, he even screws up the colors and sizes. But I think if he advertised his tails the way they're actually made, people wouldn't get so mad about it.
I can forsure agree with that! But I think he is trying to make a living. While I really do agree it's obnoxious to false advertise and be careless, I still like his business.
I've been thinking about saving up the money to purchase one of these too. My big question with the last girl/tail this video features is; it looks like its made of fabric billowing over a swim fin. I thought he boasts about latex? The latex tail is fabric over a swim fin? I thought this was an extreme amount of money for a tail, but frightening to think that you aren't going to get something custom fit when spending an obscene amount of money.
@UsaDumplingTsukino It IS latex over a monofin, but still isn't going to turn out looking like in his advertisements. He even uses photoshop to edit pictures of the tails which is false advertising. I recommend getting a tail from Mike Van Daal if you're looking for a more realistic tail, there haven't been any complaints about his tails that I'm aware of.
@aquaro123 Yeah, that's partly the problem. On his website he has you measure yourself for a custom fit, but the tails never end up fitting like they should. I don't really think he does custom fit them, and neither does anybody else who have gotten Mertailor tails.
Giday I made a few tails some ten years ago for the girls who worked in my show. Each tail had to be custom fitted to the girl for an exact fit. I personally don't think it is possible to do it any other way.. Tails are not expensive to make but I suggest that any future tails ordered through anybody should be custom fitted before manufacture.. I have no connection to the company concerned I live in Australia and was around way before Mertailer. Regards Aquaro
This is why I always stick to making my own tails (i'm working on making a latex tail) I feel really bad for those who bought those tails and it didn't work out =( I hope they got somesort of money back guarantee thing.
@HanonVoice It's almost impossible to find the perfect mermaid tail. I don't know of any good places to purchase them, unless you want to spend a fortune on custom made designs and stuff like they use in movies and tv shows.
@HanonVoice you can get good swimming fabric at Jo-ann fabrics for $12 a yard (the usual cost to make one is about $70-$100 at the most Depending on yard usage) and to make a latex tail can cost up to $600 depending on the models you use and the latex you buy.
@SevenSeasofGreenTea I have my own fabric already. lol Good quality latex febric for £50 British money. Also Jo-ann fabrics won't have been here anyway.
@imsostupidyay I don't recommend Mermagica... That's where I got my first tail and I HATED it... The fabric sucks and fades after your first swim, not to mention it stretches like crazy - i can now stretch mine up to my neck. I mean it's not as big a rip-off as Mertailor tails, but I still wouldn't say they're decent quality.

I am a recent customer, my tail came with a waist to big,paper stuck to the tail and really, really poor packaging I am surprised the box didn't come apart once he has your money and the tail is out the door he is done with you...His Response was get a sewing machine or a seamstress/tailor like hello Eric you are the tailor!!! NO customer service after the tail goes out the door So far he hasn't just taken the money and no tail appears like some other guy we all know,but he is getting close
-also the sewing machine! Taking it to a seamstress who would do that work is more unnecessary money spent. The paint on the tail scrapes off easily, even when one is careful, the latex cracks and tears, the seams were already loose when I got the tail (and had sand in them).
His tails are now non refundable and non returnable. Do your research before you buy, and make an informed decision!

I also had issues with not only customer service, but the tails themselves. The first tail was far too small and hurt to be in after more than 20mins, even after stretching the tail as much as possible. I was one of two people who got a replacement tail- the new tail I have been unable to swim in as it's far too big and I can't find anyone to take it in. He says you can take it in with a regular sewing machine, but I was told by a professional this would most likely damage not only the tail but-
@TheMermaidtetra I was about to buy one too, but mainly because the tails will stay upright like they in the advertisements and stuff. Apparently though, the ones he advertises with are made differently specifically for that, unlike the ones you purchase.

@cehendri Actually, the mertailor's tails are pretty notorious for being of bad quality. Sometimes they're ill-fitting or colored wrongly, but they're known for coming apart and tearing only after a few months. For something that you pay $500-$1000 for, they should be pretty damn good.. Not only that, but he should include SOME type of warranty so people can at least get them repaired, since no one besides him knows how to fix them! People should just stop buying from this guy. His work is bad

I love his tails. Especially the latex.
Before insulting somebody's hard working business see how it works for you. And also, Katie's tail isnt too small! Just because it shows a bit of her suit underneath doesn't mean they're poorly made. As for the last one... ew. Bad tail. But everyone makes mistakes. I have a friend with a wonderful tail from him.

@SparkShowOfficial I do agree that some of his tails didn't come out that bad, but I think it's his false advertising and sometimes screwing up the orders that makes everyone mad. He edits his pictures on photoshop to make the tails look better, and he makes the ones he advertises differently so the fluke part is more stiff. Sometimes, he even screws up the colors and sizes. But I think if he advertised his tails the way they're actually made, people wouldn't get so mad about it.

I can forsure agree with that! But I think he is trying to make a living. While I really do agree it's obnoxious to false advertise and be careless, I still like his business.

I've been thinking about saving up the money to purchase one of these too. My big question with the last girl/tail this video features is; it looks like its made of fabric billowing over a swim fin. I thought he boasts about latex? The latex tail is fabric over a swim fin? I thought this was an extreme amount of money for a tail, but frightening to think that you aren't going to get something custom fit when spending an obscene amount of money.

@UsaDumplingTsukino It IS latex over a monofin, but still isn't going to turn out looking like in his advertisements. He even uses photoshop to edit pictures of the tails which is false advertising. I recommend getting a tail from Mike Van Daal if you're looking for a more realistic tail, there haven't been any complaints about his tails that I'm aware of.

@aquaro123 Yeah, that's partly the problem. On his website he has you measure yourself for a custom fit, but the tails never end up fitting like they should. I don't really think he does custom fit them, and neither does anybody else who have gotten Mertailor tails.

Giday I made a few tails some ten years ago for the girls who worked in my show. Each tail had to be custom fitted to the girl for an exact fit. I personally don't think it is possible to do it any other way.. Tails are not expensive to make but I suggest that any future tails ordered through anybody should be custom fitted before manufacture.. I have no connection to the company concerned I live in Australia and was around way before Mertailer. Regards Aquaro

This is why I always stick to making my own tails (i'm working on making a latex tail) I feel really bad for those who bought those tails and it didn't work out =( I hope they got somesort of money back guarantee thing.

@HanonVoice It's almost impossible to find the perfect mermaid tail. I don't know of any good places to purchase them, unless you want to spend a fortune on custom made designs and stuff like they use in movies and tv shows.

@HanonVoice you can get good swimming fabric at Jo-ann fabrics for $12 a yard (the usual cost to make one is about $70-$100 at the most Depending on yard usage) and to make a latex tail can cost up to $600 depending on the models you use and the latex you buy.

@imsostupidyay I don't recommend Mermagica... That's where I got my first tail and I HATED it... The fabric sucks and fades after your first swim, not to mention it stretches like crazy - i can now stretch mine up to my neck. I mean it's not as big a rip-off as Mertailor tails, but I still wouldn't say they're decent quality.

The mertailor sits on his ass while he takes VERY hard earned money. He claims him self to make dreams come true; Well I would most definitely agree he is a NIGHTMARE come true!

I am a recent customer, my tail came with a waist to big,paper stuck to the tail and really, really poor packaging I am surprised the box didn't come apart once he has your money and the tail is out the door he is done with you...His Response was get a sewing machine or a seamstress/tailor like hello Eric you are the tailor!!! NO customer service after the tail goes out the door So far he hasn't just taken the money and no tail appears like some other guy we all know,but he is getting close

-also the sewing machine! Taking it to a seamstress who would do that work is more unnecessary money spent. The paint on the tail scrapes off easily, even when one is careful, the latex cracks and tears, the seams were already loose when I got the tail (and had sand in them).
His tails are now non refundable and non returnable. Do your research before you buy, and make an informed decision!

I also had issues with not only customer service, but the tails themselves. The first tail was far too small and hurt to be in after more than 20mins, even after stretching the tail as much as possible. I was one of two people who got a replacement tail- the new tail I have been unable to swim in as it's far too big and I can't find anyone to take it in. He says you can take it in with a regular sewing machine, but I was told by a professional this would most likely damage not only the tail but-

@TheMermaidtetra I was about to buy one too, but mainly because the tails will stay upright like they in the advertisements and stuff. Apparently though, the ones he advertises with are made differently specifically for that, unlike the ones you purchase.
