@kalloused I think you've got it wrong. Christians haven't taken it away from non-believers, it's just their own brand of it. Sure, Black Metal usually revolves around Satanism, Paganism, freedom and evil, and it has it's own style and sound. And the sound is now the main contributing factor to what Black Metal is. So these bands aren't Black Metal in terms of ideas and beliefs, they just like the style, they have the same lyrical themes as they always have had, they just play how they want.

But i don't believe in conformity, i think i should be allowed to the music i love. I listen to Gorgoroth, Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon and 1349 among other bands. Those bands have their own message and i can take away something positive from them about how to live my life how i like and still be a good person believing in God. i'm sure you can do the same \m/ :)

Ok I accept you point about Newton but the current ratio is nowhere near that high. Its closer to 60% atheist/agnostic 40% some kinda spiritual belief. I dunno about Hawkings I've read quotes like yours and quotes like "The chances against our universe emerging from the big bang like that are huge. I think there's definite religious implications."
