The routine brutality exhibited by both SS and many Wehrmacht units was more norm than exception whereas the reverse is true of the US and Commonwealth. I find the glorification of Nazi killers fighting for a despicable cause disgusting. The Wehrmacht Resistance Pt 4 shows a real young hero worthy of remembrance.

Little doubt why the victorious allies imposed a generous peace, rather than a counter part to the harsh peace that Germany would have imposed (such as offering Texas and the southwest to Mexico!)

The Germans generals had to sign in that famous railroad car, an unconditional surrender. The terms were fleshed out later. Austria=Hungary lost their empire. Germany mostly lost their eastern empire, and the results of aggression from prior wars, and a reparation that corresponded to that inflicted on France in 1870.

The routine brutality exhibited by both SS and many Wehrmacht units was more norm than exception whereas the reverse is true of the US and Commonwealth. I find the glorification of Nazi killers fighting for a despicable cause disgusting. The Wehrmacht Resistance Pt 4 shows a real young hero worthy of remembrance.

In the Italian campaign 96 Fallsjirmjaeger soldiers were machined gunned down in cold blood by American troops and I met one of the American officers who told me about it and he said that was the reason he thought the 88 were killed at the battle of the bulge and he was there also. It did happpen more than that but not to that great a number at once and no telling how many the Russians killed! thousands.

The worst thing I´ve seen had been missing or stiff fingers.

Anyone knows of a documentary about WW2 tank aces? Somethink that talks about german, american, british, canadian, polish and russian aces. I know Wittman was good, but there were others fighting.

Hans Saddoff is driving a mobile armored anti-tank gun, not a tank. Michael Wittman had well over 160 kills. I suspect the rest of the stats are equally inaccurate.

Wittman is credited of having 138 kills + the ones he did on his last mission, which are uncertain.
If you can clearly state using sources of his 160 kills, please do so.

From wikipedia. I was confusing his stats with Knispel, who had 168 tank kills. Apologies.

Nice Vid. Even though I don't support Nazism in any way shape or form, I do think the Germans had the best tanks and crews of WW 2. The Wehrmacht was the best in the world at the time. They just had a crazy man leading them who was not a great military mind.

Both Rondorf and Kinspel were killed in April 1945. A hard fate for two great tank commanders.
