I never compare singers.Such a waste of time and space.Suffice to say that they both have amazing voices,great breath control,convey strong feelings easily,perfect pitch,amazing legato and a rare quality of purity and color in their voices.Add to all that the fact that they both are above average ( waaaayyy above average..) in physical beauty and magnetism.To both my deepest admiration and wishes of great success in the future.
@BigMTBrain BRAVOOOO!!! Finally someone with a good ear.I agree with you.Bocelli has a metallic nasal and back of the the throat mechanical voice and lacks color and emotion.Miller's notes are round,strong and ever so consistent,besides able of conveying feelings a lot easier.Great singer.

I think she has a beautiful voice and being a novice I don't notice what others are saying about not singing well. I am glad I can listen and not criticize. I like them both. I wish I had his voice and that beautiful woman by my side.

Bocelli's performance feels so natural when I listen to it. This feels all wrong - the woman's singing is unnecessarily dramatic - there's no doubt she can sing, but for me, she just doesn't fit. Likewise with Miller...
here you can not appreciate the man's voice, because sarah was spent in power, in contrast with the interpretation brightman with bocelli, the two sounded even, not exceeded his voice, and that helped him to be bocelli listen, for a soprano always cover them all.

Maybe some of you haven't heard many operatic tenors in your day, but David Miller's voice is a strong and trained one. He has a spotless musical pedigree, and I don't think one should discredit the voice simply because of his pop success with Il Divo.
The ending proves that he has operatic chops. Perhaps you all should heed the old-age notion that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything nice at all.

It's wonderfully performed, but of course goes without saying he is no Andrea Bocelli, even Costel Busuioc projects much better than he does. David seems to have a little trouble leading into the notes during the key change. He also fails to enunciate effectively during the second verse, "con me" coming out "con pe". Over all, I enjoyed it, but has definitely been performed better.

I just found out from the Il Divo livejournal community that the two of them re now married (married on August 8th 2009).
I think that Joy does her part better than David here. But that's probably because many great male singers have done this - yet the female singers usually aren't actual opera singers who sing this (of the one's I've heard at least!)

I love watching them in this video, and it was good to hear that they were being married this summer. They are a fantastic looking couple and I bet they will have beautiful and very talented children.
I don't know anything about technical things, but my opinion is that seeing them sing together and knowing that they see each other so little... I think it's beautiful... And they look at each other so nicely.
And I do remember waiting to see what kind of girlfriend David has and how does she sing... I think she did an awesome job since most David fans probably thought that she would not be able to handle it...
I viewed this 7 times as a retired degreed professional musician. There is nothing wrong with the music per se. The artists are not comfortable and in love with the composition. Joy has a beautiful voice but is singing "across" a vocal mike (a no no) The microphone pickup for this recording is below the sound line of the PA system making it sound like heads in a bucket. Nothing is killed by musicianship, it is killed by a combination of technical problems.

I much prefer Miller's voice over Bocelli's. It's full-bodied and robust. His vibrato is strong and consistent, and not smeared like Bocelli's.

While by no means singing from the throat.
(Aimed at inexperienced singers who can't tell the difference.) It's wonderfully performed, but of course goes without saying he is no Andrea Bocelli, even Costel Busuioc projects much better than he does. David seems to have a little trouble leading into the notes during the key change. He also fails to enunciate effectively during the second verse, "con me" coming out "con pe". Over all, I enjoyed it, but has definitely been performed better.

I just found out from the Il Divo livejournal community that the two of them re now married (married on August 8th 2009).
I think that Joy does her part better than David here. But that's probably because many great male singers have done this - yet the female singers usually aren't actual opera singers who sing this (of the one's I've heard at least!)

I don't know anything about technical things, but my opinion is that seeing them sing together and knowing that they see each other so little... I think it's beautiful... And they look at each other so nicely.
And I do remember waiting to see what kind of girlfriend David has and how does she sing... I think she did an awesome job since most David fans probably thought that she would not be able to handle it...

I viewed this 7 times as a retired degreed professional musician. There is nothing wrong with the music per se. The artists are not comfortable and in love with the composition. Joy has a beautiful voice but is singing "across" a vocal mike (a no no) The microphone pickup for this recording is below the sound line of the PA system making it sound like heads in a bucket. Nothing is killed by musicianship, it is killed by a combination of technical problems.

I wouldn't know about technique and breathing though it is apparent neither of these two singers has any emotional range. The videographer needs training. Sorry, but the video itself is awful.
