The graphics I knew were in-game on my SD TV, as the jaggies were appearent in that shot while playing, whereas CGs on SD TVs have a nice smooth look, without any jaggies.

UNCH2 and Heavy Rain are the best looking games i have ever played in my life. Even though the XBOX 360 has the best ONLINE experience i have ever experienced if that makes sense. So all in all, if you only own one console, you are missing out! I love the PS3 and xbox 360 ALOT!

Imagine how this game would look if it was rendered in 1080p. Also if Polyphony did the graphics for it. it would be like 500,000 polygons per character model like 500,000 polygons for a car in GT5.
I know that you don't, but the graphics department in the company puts that amount of Polygons in the models. And the amount of pixels has nothing to do with it. The amount of polygons determines the amount of realism that the model holds visually. The pixels are just part of the canvas in which the model is displayed on.
God of War III has no where near the realism of Uncharted 2. That's factual. And yes, consoles can handle that. Gran Turismo 5 is going to have that. The Ps3's capabilities are being explored every day.
Well Uncharted has more realism than god of war because.. well its supposed to be real. God of war is about mythology magic and gods. so i dont know where you are getting at
@DarthXephron You're wrong about that. GTAIV is a good example. Went in a more realistic direction with animation, physics, story, characters. Some people actually fault it for that. Another example would be Operation Flashpoint, it's a realistic military shooter. Realism in games is not tied to any specific part, but the game as a whole.
@Zonde32 God of war still goes for the realistic look. Look at the character models, they look much more realistic than GOWIII. But the environments don't compare.

Yes I am referring to Uncharted 2's graphics as "meh". The draw distance was amazing, but everything looked cheap and fake to me. Like I said, since playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Only some are real-time. There are pre-rendered cutscenes, but I don't think they were altered in anyway (possibly to reduce load times by loading in the background behind the pre rendered cutscenes.)
Well, prerendered cutscenes are obvious since if you play as donut drake, he goes back to regular drake in some cutscenes (the ones that are pre-rendered).
And about to help loading times, is just a method people were discussing in a forum about uncharted 2 prerendered vs real time. (idk if its fact, but they agreed that it could be the reason why Naughty Dog put prerendered cutscenes).

If it wasn't pre-rendered, then it should appear as Donut Drake if you are playing as him. Real time would be altered by what has happened prior (playing as donut drake, or having a certain weapon), etc.
But those cutscenes aren't. No matter what, what is in those cutscenes will remain the same.
(Continuing) Truth is, they're both getting highly outdated, the PS3 does a total of 2 TFLOPS, and if I were to make a QUAD-SLI setup with Core i7 Extreme... @Zonde32 Uncharted 2 looks amazing, but it's irrefutable that God of War 3 owns it, it's because of Uncharted 2's art style mainly, God of War 3 art style is mostly realistic. And textures are much more detailed too, yet its only using 50% of PS3 power.

@MrRichardo23 God of War 3 is indeed the most visually detailed game on the PS3, there are too many jaggies everywhere in Uncharted 2 and the textures in Uncharted 2 look somewhat washed up, I'd say Killzone 3's textures are more detailed too, but God of War 3 beats them both...

Yes I am referring to Uncharted 2's graphics as "meh". The draw distance was amazing, but everything looked cheap and fake to me. Like I said, since playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, nothing can impress me, especially in the lighting department, as Call of Pripyat has amazing lighting. It also has the best weather effects I've ever seen.

i lked the graphics because of teh shading which makes it look good, so its very alusive. so common mistake there for people who think it has greats textures.
and i only have a ps3 and i hate it right now. i thought i was going to get good games, not games who bragged about the graphics. so now i'm stuck with killzone 2 and uncharted 2 and all this when i really want to play some mass effect 2 i want to try out halo reach so badly.

Only some are real-time. There are pre-rendered cutscenes, but I don't think they were altered in anyway (possibly to reduce load times by loading in the background behind the pre rendered cutscenes.)

Well, prerendered cutscenes are obvious since if you play as donut drake, he goes back to regular drake in some cutscenes (the ones that are pre-rendered).
And about to help loading times, is just a method people were discussing in a forum about uncharted 2 prerendered vs real time. (idk if its fact, but they agreed that it could be the reason why Naughty Dog put prerendered cutscenes).

If it wasn't pre-rendered, then it should appear as Donut Drake if you are playing as him. Real time would be altered by what has happened prior (playing as donut drake, or having a certain weapon), etc.
But those cutscenes aren't. No matter what, what is in those cutscenes will remain the same.
doesn't matter though, still looks brilliant.
