I can understand her a little bit abt the weight problem,i fell the same way and some times i starve myself to try to loose weight,and then i can go on for 3 days,

but i started have head ache,stomach ache,so i can't go longer,but at least when i started to try to eat;the portion is smaller...I have tryed all kinds of diets and i fell that i can't loose any weight,except when i starve myself.I can't loose my curves...and this depresses me....I used to be 85lbs now i'm 132lbs and i can't go down

@analavig 132 lbs is a perfectly normal weight, and I envy that- 85 lbs is NOT normal. But if you truly want to eat healthier and lose weight while still getting necessary nutrients (REALLY, REALLY IMPORTANT- do NOT starve yourself! Get help! Karen would've wanted you to!) have you tried the Paleo Diet? (or Primal Blueprint?) Starving yourself will only cause your metabolism to go down, making it harder to lose weight. But still, the goal should be health, not looks.

@analavig I'm sure you look alot prettier now than when you were 85 lbs, I used to have eating disorder and I was seriously underweight, then I gained my weight back after years of battling, my organs r very healthy, and my skin are glowy, even my crush asked me out!! People tell me I look better than when I was "sick", so don't try to lose weight, because you're beautiful when you're confident and healthy, that's how true women should feel :) <3

After the devastating betrayal of her brother in regards to her solo album, Karen found a way to bounce back, gain some weight, and look beautiful on this sham of a day. She had a great inner strength, I think, but eventually the toll of everything was too much for her. She went downhill fast shortly after the wedding and never recovered. She was gorgeous here, and for about six months or so after. I'm no fan of Richard, but I'm not so sure that he actually wanted to be there at that moment.

Yeah, Richard didn't need to be anywhere next to the "married" couple. Protective brother or not - co-partner of "The Carpenters" this was her wedding day and she was standing next to her new husband - y'know - a FREE married woman - independent of big-brother. Still, she looked beautiful and happy.

I wish I knew the whole story and details of the marriage, and what went wrong, how and why, but I don't, so I can't make any judgements. At least Karen was happy for one day. I know that every woman wants and wishes to have a fairy tale Wedding and marriage, especially Karen. But tragically, Karen's personal life didn't turn out like she, and everyone, wanted, and made her Anorexia Nervosa condition even worse, as a psychological disorder, and thus eventual physical abuse to ones own body.

It's sad to watch this, bcause it looked like Richard controlled Karen's every move. In the interview, he should have got the heck out of the way. But without that voice of Karen's, Richard could not have made it. His solo albums went nowhere. This was only an example, but it seemed that everyone controlled Karen---except Karen, which maybe explains her eating disorder. I can only guess. I know this much.....she is terribly missed........

yeah, in all of the videos, karen displays non verbal signals of this relationship. the dude would not let her go. seems like she was never allowed to be who she was. she was so much more alive when she was alone in interviews.

Other people have criticized Richard here, but if you watch him, you'll see he begins to look rather uncomfortable and even takes a step backward when the question is asked about immediate plans; it's like "Why am I here?" I think he said "Right" only because he didn't want it to look as if he forgot how to speak.

Karen made a "Beautiful" bride. Her handsome hudband seemed to take the media in stride. It did surprise me to see Richard monitoring this sacred event like a hawk, even having the last word reiterating Karen's remark about getting back to work after the honeymoon. This made me feel sorry for her. This was Karen's moment and Richard felt like he had to orchestrate the moment. I guess money can't buy happiness. RIP our dear Karen.

Richard basically *was* in control. He arranged and produced all those songs. He understood Karen's voice and he knew exactly how to build a great song around it. FYI... Richard had just come out of a drug rehab program at that point (qualudes), and he was very anxious to get back to work... understandable.

Not so understandable, imho. Richard couldn't let Karen enjoy her day? Treat her as a sister and not a commodity? He had to stand in between the bride and groom during the interview, practically willing Karen to say, "we're gonna go back to work." Egh. Not healthy all around.

Most people don't realize there was a time when Richard refused to work with Karen till she got healthier, which was temporarily successful, as she reached 106 pounds. I believe Karen was at that point when she was married. I agree with you that it comes off as a bit weird, but he's not really between, but behind them.

richard is very protective of his sister. He knew she needed help, he knew it was not the right time to be married because she should of worked out her problems first, or she would never be happy.Richard had good intentions it just came out the wrong way in this video. Richard and Tom had disagreements sometimes to.

i have seen other comments from people who say he is one the most stand offish people they have encountered. really sad. i would like to meet richard some day and tell him what his and karen's music has meant to me in my life. but if he is that way torwards me, it would crush me i think..

@cjh661 I have met Richard numerous times, and he always been very friendly and kind, and even funny! He is not the least bit standoffish. He just ALWAYS looks uncomfortable on camera.
