i think this song is about a boy who did something sucky involving his relationship (like cheating) for example, he says he knows he's vile, he would do anything to make her less sad about what he did, he's hoping she will forget about his mistakes. he says "call me a safe bet" like she can trust him and he says "im betting i'm not" because he cheated.
