I was amazed at how few electric cars there are. I knew there are not many commercial ones out there but I thought there were many more conversions!  I thought things had taken off more than that.

There are. But they are overwhelmingly lead acid battery cars. There are a couple HUNDRED LiFePo4 conversions out there.

Manzanita Micro makes the most popular charger for example. Since 2001, they've sold about 750 chargers. And that's almost all lead acid cars.

It's a "micro" industry.
