seinfield...never "got" him.. no i tae that back- i "get" it, he just really sucks. funnier than lenny fuckin henry tho- "hey lenny got any other ways to be supposedly funny than do your mum's jamaican accent over and over again?" "er no sorry..."
I agree. The point with Elvis is it was as much, if not more, about the way he sang rather than who wrote the songs, whereas when you're a comedian it's all about the jokes you write and tell, or at least it should be.
Alot of people need to chill out, this is about comedy after all. I think the important thing is all the right names are there somewhere on the list. The order they come in doesn't matter.
Someone's got to say it... this is a bullshit list made up by bullshit biased lousy know-nothing about real comedy Brits that have no clue about what's really funny...they only know about who has the thickest British accent. Most people here are lousy unknown Brits because that's what the lousy creators wanted. It's sad to see greats like Roseanne, George Burns, and Bill Cosby behind asshole small time Brit comics. You notice how they spend the most time on the British ones?
Yes, because the list was produced by a British tv network and voted by the British public. If an American channel had created it probably would include no British comedians, so why don't you go watch that instead of whining on here about your frankly overrated comedy.
@LOLWUT58 I'm Norwegain, and they do the same bullshit when they're ranking comics here too. No one in their right mind can claim that Lenny Henry is better than Jerry Seinfeld. This is absolutely ridiculous. The reason people watch this is too laugh. So we who realize these shit Brit comics are overrated, we reserve the right to say so. Deal with it. Your "naughty" puns and thick accents just aren't enough. Ardal O' Hanlon for instance, behind Lenny Henry and Peter Kaye? Come on, please.
@dilmao piss off dude, why would you watch the list up to part 9, you should have realized by this point that the list is made up of mostly British comics which is obvious considering this is a list aimed at british audiences. Of course people are going to disagree with the list, even us brits disagree with some of it. thats no reason to criticise british comics altogether
@LORDUnLuCkY13 I didn't, I critized shit comics like Lenny Henry and the people behind the list, but since you weren't able to extrapolate that, perhaps I should focus on illiteracy in Britain instead. You fuckin degenerate.
@dilmao "shit Brit comics are overrated" if you were simply referring to shit comics there is no need for the word Brit to be included ,but i get a feeling of general hatred towards british comedians in your original comment. what about my comment was illiterate? you strike me as the kinda person who uses the word degenerate rather than something like cunt or bastard in order to make themselves feel intelligent.
but i misunderstood the comment, i'll give you that.
@LORDUnLuCkY13 So you're blind and deaf as well? Have you even seen the video you're commenting on? It's a British list, dominated by British comics, hence shit Brit comics. The Comedy Central list is just as full of shit American comics, like Martin Lawrence for instance. You really are a cunt aren't you? A flabby, stinky, acne filled cunt.
@dilmao you sound pretty butthurt that no one has heard of any good norwegian comics, and if there are any they haven't made any lists, awwww such a shame.
wow such original insults, they really hurt (that was sarcasmm incase you couldn't understand. >.>)
anyhoo i didn't make this list so i don't really care.
Common, Seinfeld is so conventional. Carlin had just such amazing energy as a performer. I think he's a lot more enjoyable to watch than Seinfeld. But the Seinfeld series was pretty damn funny.
@raminile Lee Mack said something earlier about convention and the mainstream. He said if a couple of people like you, that's good. If a few people like you, that's good. If a lot of people like you, that's bad.
@truepoisson i haven't seen alot of jerry's stand up but i just think carlin deservs to be placed higher and got really agitated after seeing him get the short end of the stick. Originality is often considered a great asset to a performer.
@raminile this is true (also thank you for not replying angrily, people often take friendly debate the wrong way on youtube), originality is of course important but I feel you can be conventional and mainstream and still be original, it doesn't have to be avant-garde. I haven't seen any Carlin before though, so I could just be talking complete bollocks x
@Dakatt1 ok,will do, thanks. Its odd to be at this side of the conversation: normally I'm defending the freaks, geeks and eeks of the entertaiment world

I guess we can all agree this list itself is supposed to be comedic in the order is totally ass-backwards.

Sorry, but what Tim Vine said about Elvis Presly is completely irrelevant and bullshit. Comedy is not Music!

@alx617 True. Seinfeld's standup is not terribly funny. It's almost like it's for a young audience. Seinfeld was funny because of LARRY DAVID.
