  • I am going to begin copying this. Will let you know how it turns out.

    Excellent!

Be keen to hear how it goes for you.

I've got all the bits, but I haven't bought the SBC oil pump. Now, I just wanted to hear again about what you did with it....

Glumpy, just to confirm... I block off the original ports, drill two big holes for myself. Weld fittings into those holes.... and then I've got my pump? I can get an electric motor, lovejoy's, hose, and a battery... I think I've got it all.

    Yep.

I drill mine using a cone drill or drill them and enlarge with a rotary fil in a drill. I use 1" gal elbows and weld them onto the housing.

Make sure not to get any splatter inside the pump as the clearances to the rotors are tight and it can be a bitch to get out.

Definitely use plenty of anti splatter inside the housing.

  • Can you please tell me what brand scooter you used.

  • Great stuff, thanks

  • So does this setup self prime?

  • I've used the chevy pumps for several things, but your mod with larger inlet and outlet ports real moves some oil! Nice compact motor you found too.. hats off!

  • That's Quick!

  • Didn't realize how well SBC oil pumps work. Good work.
