The voice recordings for this game should be used to make a 3d animated feature as the lost episode of original star trek. This story was never heard and contains hours of voice acting from now deceased cast members. This is a story that should be seen!
I will never forget watching this trailer that came with the pc game Blade Runner by interplay as well. Blade Runner was an awesome game (1997) but I was so so so excited about this game. Pissed off to this day!
This game would've been a sucess within the Star Trek franchise. Other games have failed, but this game had breath taking 3D rendering, animations, considering this was 1997. I am amazed at how well the characters are made, they even outwin other 3D meshes made nowadays!
Note at 0:29 that you can clearly see that the turboshaft doors on the bridge are misaligned with the actual external turboshaft housing. This is a common flaw found in the original series. If you look at the Enterprise plans or the Star Fleet Tech Manual, you will see that the bridge is rotated about 45 degrees to the port from centerline. Just sayin.
Some day, when all these actors have passed on some company with the cash will acquire the audio for these actors to appear in an all new game or cgi film, it will be quite an event.
I remember when I first saw the preview for this game at the beggining of one of the star trek PC games in the late 90's (judgement rights i think). It sucks they never completed it. I've always wondered what happened, they were probably almost done.
I've never seen this footage from this game. Almost 10 years ago, the whole graphics was ahead of time, although we never saw the actual gameplay. :) But the 2 pre-rendered videos are still very nice. Shame, this game has never been released.
I say someone forms a raiding party and tries to get all the materials from this game.. I'm sure they're sitting in a moldy box in some companys archives... its an absolute WASTE.. something should be done with it.
I hate ship games. That's all I've seen with this franchise. I'd like to play any 3rd person perspective / story based game with the TOS characters! This would have rocked!!!!
A true Star Trek Fan, would not care what type of game this was. Infact, in is not a ship simulation. There was many interactions and taskd to perform within the game. Further, you probably dont know that the "voice recordings" were the last of Deforest Kelly "Dr MCcoy. and all the original cast. Just for the storyline i would want this game, it is truly nostalgic. Might be released in the future..u never know..
I remember being so pissed when I heard this game wasn't coming out in 1998. The preview is still amazing and looks like it was created today. I would take any new Star Trek TOS game at this point though.
Looks like scotty has a thyroid problem. Better have bones check out that goiter.

The Enterprise at the end there, looked awesome. It's the "The Cage" and "Where No Man Has Gone Before" configuration too, at least the nacelles are.

These graphics could never have been achieved back in 1997 in real time.
Perhaps in 2004 you'd have chance of getting such graphics in real time.
I'm hoping NANOFX game engine will achieve greatness for trek fans.

I was so disappointed that Interplay / Tribal Dreams never released this game.
Did anyone else notice that Scotty kind of looks like Dan Aykroyd?

That makes ANGRY WITH RAGE that the game was canceled! It looked so cool, and the graphics were so ahead of there time.
