I guess at the end of the day, it can be seen as a test to see if people treat him the same way if he looked different.
Conclusion? That much of society IS shallow and DID treat him badly when his appearance changed.
If you're not shallow, you should be able to look beneath his face and focus on him as a person and what he has done.

at this point mj already had one nose job. and it looked good. he did the second one much later. and he still looked good when his skin color changed (due to vitiligo). and what about the other ppl who do plastic surgery! jeez why does it matter when mj does anything. ppl do face lifts and botox its fine. mj does 2 nose jobs and every1 crucifies him. ppl tan and its fine. mj gets vitiligo and he "hates his race"!! wtf is up with the world! goodness, mj's life story makes me hate ppl sometimes.

off the wall didnt look like a difference. it was just different angles. if you look at when he was with the jacksons in "blame it on the boogie" its the same as "dont stop 'till you get enough"

Maybe it didn't look different you're right but he broke his nose in 1979 and had to get it fixed (I think he fell on his face when he was dancing). That was the first time. But the first doctor messed it up so he had to go to another doctor to fix it.
I'm 99% sure he wrote that in his book 'MoonWalker'.

He cut up his face and he was anorexic and emaciated when he died. HE did something to himself. The skin color is questionable but he did a lot of damage to himself physically as well as mentally.
