Mny and norouzen, you're both wrong. True the hit delays a bit (I know, I've swung a bat and got shot down before it came in contact) and true that the hotbox is expanded a little because that's how games are ( play turok 4)
But you have to keep the third variable in mind, the fact that the collision can fling you through the player model for a split second, giving the game a backstabbing indicator AFTER you swing AND hit.
Yep the usual bullshit of people thinking just because you aren't EXACTLY straight behind them that there is no way the knife should be able to hit their back.
Though more often than not the backstab code leans more there way for me no matter where Im standing. You read about all the facestab hate, but please FAILSTABS are a HUGE problem.

Melees are instahit on the hitbox, when you clicked it was (sort of, maybe probably not) a facestab.
