If your interested in gators then yo should see the Australian salt water croc's the biggest and most deadly in the reptile family.

you run in a zig zag because alligators cant turn very well. it slows it down.

the funny thing about "gators" is that they are sooooo lazy that in almost 90% of cases they wont even chase you so you dont have to run... they are more of a surprise attack animal that lies right beneath the surface and then grabs the neck of things that comes too close to the water and then drag them out and keep spinning around an around and around and around and around (think you get the deal) untill the animal/person is dead... and then "dinner's ready"

@MegaNever2010 Actually, the spinning around and around thing is to tear of bits of chunks to eat. They cant do it any other way.

They have been known to eat an animal until its dead.

Me, being a cultural expert, can add the following comment:

about the handler guy hanging with the gators - animals have culture and expressions as well as people do(people can be approached as animals, as opposed to individuals) Probably the predatorian animals he is walking around with have been familiarised to humans; Establishing a culture with less distance atmospherically. Thus the animals won't use as sudden moves, at least not without expressing themselves clearly - which can be read.

Another fun-fact about gators and crocs, prince: When a gator has it's mouth closed, you can only see the top teeth. But when a croc closes it's mouth, you can see top and bottom teeth.

in that fort if you wnet in you would fall through go into the water and be very scared and f=go crazy which would attract gstors espcially because gators like shade and they would live undert that fort which means your dead which would scare most of the viewers and if you made it it would make them calm down and i really dont know why i am making this long long comment also running in a straight line would be the best way becasue their eyes are on the side making it hard for them to see you :)

actually, if you run in a zig zag motion then it will help your chances of escaping because the gater or croc wont be able to do the same thing, it will basicilly make him dizzy if that s the way you want to put it. And the gaters or crocs have short legs which makes it hard to make those moves.

well, this is located in Christmas, FL. It's a completely different area than the Everglades, but the idea is the same.

However, this is more of a controlled-environment. And it's a much, much smaller area.

I'm surprised you didn't know that alligators have 3 eyelids... :/ I knew that when I was 5 cus I asked myself how would a gator not have his eyes bothered underwater, and eventually I decided that they must have another special eyelid. Turns out I was right. I always thought thaty pretty much everyone knew that. Now it feels weird :(
