Great video that brings back the memories. Those hand drawn charts are something I'll always remember. And this was back when the black and white satellite photos were as hi-tech as it got. In the 70's he was *the* weatherman in the North Texas TV news market.
Great clip! Really appreciated Harold's insight and weather forecasting skills and made use of them as a storm spotter in Dallas County back in the day ...
BTW, many thanks for the video, it brought back good memories of Harold's voice and his on-air presentation style with attention to detail (e.g. the T-storm cloud tops blowing off into Texas as shown on the video. We don't get that kind of detail any more!)
a select few know this but Harold used to frequent this place on the corner of University, Camp Bowie and Bailey, called JJ's Blues Bar, and I will testify that Harold blew one mean horn
Hard to fathom they are both dead.
RIP old friends.

I liked Harold Taft. I remember when NOAA radio announced his death.

I continue to measure all Meteorologists
by Harolds strict standards that he insisted on.
I count it a blessing to have lived in North Texas and watch him on TV.
I was given a tour of KXAS TV5 in 1989 by Scott C. I got to sit in on the evening news
I was disappointed when I was told I would not be able to meet Harold.
Knowing now how ill he was I understand and my most respectful condolences to his family and friends.
I used to refer to Harold as "the great one"
