  • "Rare"..... shown on the Pompeii DVD in a store near you.

  • I mean, i even like to listen to these interviews... <3

  • @DRGK9 the only ones who really know are the band members themselves. We can only judge from what we know

  • Why did they not use Gilmour's guitar fills in the final recording? They sound amazing!

  • @johnjohanspear thats what im saying. but i mean the song came out amazing still.

  • brilliant

  • roger is like god

  • They were all beautiful to behold in their youth.

  • toppy it didnt sound as toppy

  • It wasn't Roger that broke the band up, it was the success and the fame that tore them apart.

  • @JRID36 it was roger. he wanted the band to be a certain way and didnt want to listen to everyone else so he quit and tried to take the name of the band with him. i read a couple books on it. trust me i know.

  • @DRGK9

Um ya....I've read 9 books on Pink Floyd.

And I've read 1 about Nick Masons take on the band.

If the band hadn't got so successful, I don't think they would've split up as soon.

  • Me and Roger have similar hair styles....

  • is that abbey road?

  • @haazi117 yes

  • David gilmour the sexiest man ever..

  • Music Masters without a doubt.

  • roger's "oh" at around 1:47-1:48... LOOOOOL!!!

  • Comment removed

  • if i could go back in time....i would marry David <3 hes fuckin gorgeous <3

  • Look at the thumbnail for the video: He has creepy flesh colored eyes.

    You can't unsee.

  • @Malikarcanum Yeah, his eyes are closed, but it almost looks like they're open if you look hard enough. Creeeppyyy.

  • yep

  • 3:43-4:05....David Gilmour...hot, sexy and oh, so yummy. And that smile...and the way he works that guitar...my God, I need a time machine NOW.

  • Gilmour looks so blazed

  • @acebabascrew He means trebly, as in bass and treble.

"toppy", "middy" and "bottomy" are common casual expressions among musicians.

  • David Gilmour is a genius

  • @Roblee291 NO...he is a god..

  • @julzmax956 i can agree on this

  • Not a rare clip, is from live in pompeii directors cut. But nonetheless good clip

  • Great video I wish have the subtitles..

  • @acebabascrew I think he meant top E, for the note

  • 5:53 to 5:58 is the perfect example of how one beautiful note can do more than 20 fast notes.

  • Hello there music appreciator.

-Do bluesy bands likes Zeppelin, Floyd, Joplin, Doors, Hendrix, and The Who give you chills? Are you physically attracted to seeking truth in music? Well I am formally inviting you to take a listen to my channel, Using your open mind take the time to hear my tunes.. your subscribtion to my channel will help me show the world my music. Much Love.

  • "where would rock n roll be without feedback" well said Mr Gilmour

  • 1:21 "...alright, I mean we all know that you're God almighty, Roger....".

  • Still one of the best albums ever>>

  • It's too bad Roger Waters was such a prick they maybe would've stayed together.

  • 7 people have brain damage.

  • Comment removed

  • Bottom line: Roger knows his shit.

  • Don't you just love it when david says "mmmm...yeah" at 4:22?

  • @TheKikarocks MMMM....YEAH!

  • i thought wright was original founder, but saw a MEDDLE dvd that said that barrett and waters were creators...????????????

  • R.I.P. Syd you will be dearly missed!

  • "Artist: Metty The Dertmerchant

Buy: Buy "Till the Cows Come Home" on: iTunes, AmazonMP3, eMusic"

Hold on, I don't... What? But... I don't get it. How... Why... YouTube's giving me brain damage. (If anyone has a gun, shoot me for that pun.)

  • I admittedly say this as a Lancastrian but I'd forgotten how entertainingly posh Floyd were. 'Your guitar doesn't sound quite as toppy Dave.' Love it!

This video also proves beyond all doubt that Roger is the Prog maestro which is probably why David Gilmour spends half this video looking amusingly exasperated.

    Long live the Floyd!

  • @88Anesthetize More like rolling his eyes in Rogers, Shooting his mouth off syndrome he always had, LOL. They all worked great together. That is a certain. There will never be another Floyd for sure.

  • Aaahh..... the '70s, best decade ever!!

  • Its so fucking beautiful see Rogers & Gilmour Speaking :')

  • This is not rare. It's from Pompeii.

  • haha, toppy.

  • I always enjoy watching studio footage, lets you see more into the production of a band and its material.

  • putzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz mto bom esse eu tenho o dvd com o show completo...

    esses caras sao doidos.....

    vlw

  • will never dis...but it did kill my buzz...

  • Roger Waters is a Genius but he seems Snotty.

  • I love when Roger is talking about music producing and Dave looks like he's thinking "Damn Roger, shut your ass up" lol!

  • Who the fuck is Eminem

  • Just fast forward to 4:35 for pure Pink Floyd.

  • David's random solo at 4:00 was awesome, but I'm glad someone pulled his ear while he was trying to record that ugly solo over he actual music, with all that horrible feedback. It just doesn't fit in this song.

  • FEEDBACK <------'-

What would Rock n Roll be without it ?

  • just wat if roger waters would have stayed with the band .....

  • @TheGametime88 what if syd barrett stayed with the band..

  • @thebooshismighty1 it would have sucked. barret, in my opinion limited the direction of the band into more noise and less harmonic experimentation. I cannot even listen to pre-gilmour pink floyd because the lyrics are too shallow or too involved and try to be trippy or vague and the music is too noisy. just my opinion but they certainly wouldnt have evolved how they did. I think syd's influence drove their success. he was their muse that they aspired to effectively pay homage to.

  • @ericmaguscloud lol dude calm down i dont really care

  • Comment removed

  • @ericmaguscloud I agree entirely with what you are saying and there can be little argument that Floyd's finest period of creativity was from Meddle to The Wall. With Syd's mindset, style of writing and limittted ability as a guitarist they wouldn't have been capable of crafting albums of that grandeur and skill.

What I will say though is his mental decline was a catalyst for them. The concept of both Dark Side and Wish You Were Here and indeed parts of The Wall were all based on his descent.

  • No doubt the topiness is askew.

  • anyone else realise that Brain Damage appears to be in a higher Key here?

  • @JessiJohanna

    yeah,good observation

  • @JessiJohanna all pompeii once are.

Pplus most of the guitar work doesnt make the album.

I think these are awsome cuts. Should release a DSM cut edition

  • all of you should go back. before dark side. take a listen to Meddle, Obscured By Clouds, etc.

  • @MaximusDowns, I find a lot of the lead singers of huge bands (Pink Flloyd, Chili Peppers, Sublime) can come off that way sometimes but I think it is more assertiveness than agressiveness... He just comes off as a prick when he is trying to explain this music to oblivious/curious or ignorant interviewers...

  • Gilmour has the sweetest sounding tone. Clever bastard. Most of it is in his hands but his tone is fairly consistent no matter what he's playing through. Love that Lewis guitar!

  • what does "toppy" mean?

  • @musicdork4ever means, treble, to much top end, brittle..

  • amazing!

  • hey! it's spinal tap!

  • Roger Waters comes off as a know it all prick back all the way back then, the rest of them seem reasonable

  • 2:22 Davids like you gonna pass that man

  • "Less toppy, more toppy" ahaha, amazing!

  • Za ten materiał w latach 70ntych dał bym wiele.

  • Are they the ones that created progressive rock?

  • Gilmour looks high as fuck.

  • Roger is really cool!

  • OH THAT EFFECT! I spoke to soon almost sounds like a phaser with the rate turned up SHIT I DON'T KNOW!

  • @expandwhatyousee I do believe it's a Leslie speaker, or it at least sounds like one.

  • I believe he uses a univibe..... or something don't quote me on this though.

  • roger was the band leader!

  • @geoff101001 No shit, Sherlock

  • whats the name of the effect that gilmour uses between 4:00 and 4:07

  • @ozzballzstoned Yeah,how is he doing that?

  • @ozzballzstoned He's using the EMS Synthi Hi-Fli... it ended up all over 'On The Run'. "Christ, where would Rock n Roll be without feedback?" You gotta love Dave.

  • I...I....I....FUCKIING LOVE PINK FLOYD, I STHE MOST CLEVER AND GENUINE, NOT TO MENTION OPEN MIND AND TALENTED BAND IN THE HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @AK4TsEv3N i guess dave and nick were the most (and i mean really) open minded, but roger wrote The Wall, the best album ever, about isolating yourself from a supposedly harmful world

  • @AK4TsEv3N it's okay to have your favorite band, but have a bigger mind than that....sober up and rethink the statement....

  • @minion278 It's my opinion.

  • @AK4TsEv3N That's not a very open minded comment weather it was meant to be or not, just saying ^^

  • Was this recorded in Pompeii?

  • Love the tone from 5:46 onwards on the guitar

  • Gilmour is using his Bill Lewis guitar in this , it had 24 frets or something like that

  • were you find this video?

  • @cookasoo live at pompaii

  • Waters is a god. Gilmore is alright, too.

  • i see why the band broke up roger is an opinionated genius ,super hard to work with none the less i love his work

  • @muskypucker no.... Gilmore should'v played the man in the iron mask...

  • @lManOwaRI:Gilmour isn't an actor.

  • Heavenkept

  • i think Gilmore's fingers are bleeding at five fourteen

  • Man, David Gilmour's looks have really gone downhill in the 37 years since this was filmed.

  • @JeffGR4 he can still play guitar just the same though.

  • @JeffGR4

Yeah, and we're all gonna look worse 37 years from now. Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

  • @JeffGR4 he's 37 years older dumb shit

  • @muskypucker and Johnny Depp could play Syd Barrett!

  • David Gilmour is so sexy

  • @muskypucker Never thought of that before but man you're right. Separated at birth.

  • classic. this is a masterpiece.

it's a damn shame we get crap for music nowadays.

  • 6 people disliked the making of the greatest masterpiece to ever land in human hands. After knowing this, I would be shocked by nothing.

  • Christ... Where would rock n roll be without feedback! Legend!

  • Brilliant Geniuses

  • what kind of guitar is david using

  • @Ballin1021 I believe I read Gilmour say it was a Stevens that he bought in Canada. Two octave neck and humbuckers.

  • There are 6 people who shouldn't be on youtube... :)

  • In a finish article, the anything that it is important, is whatever moves you or not. There's nothing else that is impotant!
