  • Cool..my Grandfather used to love this beer

  • This is the one I remember. Very cool. Very Hip.

  • Gettin' thirsy just watching this..!!!

  • Ahh yes Schafer

  • That jingle sounds like Puerto Rico to me! Very popular back in the 80's, though it was Louis Armstrong that originally sang it.

  • Where did you find this? Awesome!

  • my last name is schaefer

  • Very Cool~!~!~

  • My dads favorite beer in the 1960s..i used to sneak a sip when he would fall alseep while watching the Mets games!!!!...

  • Great inexpensive beer was once not an oxymoron, it was America. Samuel Adams is now $8.99 a six pack, but most of that money goes directly to the globalist bankers to fund the New World Order Conspiracy. Beer in the USA should be 99 cents a six pack at most.

  • I watch this every now and then for inspiration.

  • @rainbowschild Inspiration for what? The return to a world which was classier and more civil than the piece of shit we live in now? I'm with you if that's your angle. Honestly, it was great beer once - just like the United States was great once. All I feel is sadness when I watch this...

  • The outstanding characteristic of Schaefer Beer: It is the ONLY BEER i know of that tastes good at either room temperature or even warmer than room temperature. Me and my bud used to buy a case at a time from the Big Lots store on Valley Blvd in San Gabriel CA.

Schaefer Beer from Big Lots was good AND cheap beer.

  • pay attention all of the male gender: THIS is what your haircut should look like.

  • @RonandRobin Plain and dull? What if everyone had the same hair that would be stupid.

  • that's college beer, cheap!

  • Hearing the Schaefer beer song always me feel like I just watched Skip Lockwood come in and lose a game.

  • beautman1 who is Skip lockwood?

  • Clever ads,but it is not a beer that I would have more than one. It is one nasty tasting beer---yuck.

  • I'm a Schaefer and i wuz lookin up my last name. I found this. Thing is i think my great grandpa finished the company cuz nobody new anything about my grandpa schaefer. Or any of his history. I'm Charlie Schaefer and My Dad is Named John Schefer. if you live in texas than you schould know about the schaefer hall in cisco texas. I don't know much about my history. but if this is a part of it than that would be awesome

  • best commercials of any beer

  • my grandpa owned schaefer beer and my great great great ect. grandpa brought it over from germany and im named after him, pretty cool to see how famous this beer use to be

  • @Aerohead317

I'm having more than one right now. Many thanks to your family. I am in the middle of a "30 Pack Olympics," testing all the budget American beers available in my area, and Schaefer is leading the pack. Still looking for Stroh's, Piels, Schlitz and and Schmidt's though.

For the record, my favorite beer is Pilsner Urquell, followed by Budvar.

  • I grew up in the area around Boston during the '60s and remember them using this jingle in all their ads well into the '70s. That Schaefer jingle was heard constantly during Red Sox broadcasts over the years, much like Ballantine was during Yankee games.

  • I've just posted a vid of a cellulite cream on my page.

The vid is very catchy! I defy anyone not to have the melody stuck in their head after hearing it...

  • shafe still tastes better than " BUTTWIPER"

  • in high school in ca. we scored 12 paks of "shafe" for 2.79 ea ! it was not uncommon to show up at a party and see 10 to 15 12ers icing up ! this was back in 85/86

  • i don't know which was the worst, ballentine or this swill. lol. take a ring and then another ring...

  • @ultrakool - And to think that both Ballantine and Schaefer sponsored the Phillies at one time! No wonder the Phils were so bad back then... ;-)

It's a great time to be a Phillies fan today - and the rings they talk about now are World Series rings!

  • @AshburnStadium unless you're facing the giants or yankees

  • Schaefer was the one beer to have, when you were having a couple of six-packs...

  • RON & FEZ!

  • I love Schaefer and drink it all the time

  • it was an awful tasting beer

  • the new york mets beer through out the 1970s

  • Schaefer Beer also sponsored the weekly Saturday night late movie [11:30pm] on WCBS-TV, Channel 2 in New York, duirng the mid-'60s: "SCHAEFER AWARD THEATER".

  • Ahhh, The 'Schaefer Award Theater. Now, that brings back such sweet memories for me.

Uh-uh, don't figure out my age, LOLOLOL.

  • This looks like a commercial for the Conn Musical Instrument Company of Elkhart, Indiana, USA.

C.G. Conn Ltd., sometimes called Conn Instruments or commonly just Conn, was a United States manufacturer of musical instruments, especially brass instruments.

Assets of C.G. Conn were bought by Steinway Musical Instruments in 2000 and in January 2003 were merged with other Steinway properties into a subsidiary called Conn-Selmer.

  • 5 stars. This is the America I grew up in. I am one of those angry Ron Paul old white men. I play the trumpet, and I love beer and the Constitution, so kill me or put me in jail again. I wish I could go back in time and join this band.

  • @rainbowschild I enjoy drinkin a Schaefer beer through my Conn student model laquer trumpet. I owned three trumpets beyond trading in my Conn Student Model. That Conn was ALWAYS the best sounding, best responding, least hassle horn of the whole group I owned. I bought into the hype of growing out of a student model. People, don't let anybody tell you that anything is more suitable than what you started out with. That is just the salesmen and teachers in cahoots.

  • I always thought as a kid they were singing about my mom;s family, who were Schaeffer's in Reading PA, and did drink Schaefer beer. They also drank Reading Beer, another true classic. Maybe not a micro brew, but a cold glass and some ring baloney made a sweet moment!

  • They have beer on Schafer i always knew schafer was bad

  • Pre-man caves

  • I still love the part where they sing

    "in this this man's world".

    Oh man!

I bet that really lights up the damned feminists.

  • the most rewarding flavor in this man's world. i love it.

  • I LOVE THIS KIND OF STUFF....this was back when all a man needed was beer with dinner (and after dinner), a cigarette, sitting in front of the TV in your own little ranch house.......ahhhh the good life

  • You said it man..A little peice of heaven

  • lol I was having a bad day then Tom sang this to me hahahahaah

  • This was another beer that advertised on Channel 9 and the New York Mets games.

  • its so true! buy a 30 of schaefer and keep going till you dont even realize its shitty anymore!

  • its true! buy a 30 rack and keep going and you wont even notice how shitty it is!

  • I hope your dad is still with us. If he is please let him know that this ad impacted my preference in music more than the beattles! this jingle has been in my head for close to 45 years. I love it.

  • Exact same words here! Weird, isn't it. I can sing this song by heart. I am 51 and remember when this beer was still popular. And those ads brings me back to my growing up in NYC. :-)

  • @ralphbohm

Me too..I grew up in NYC and I remember the Schaefer adds..especialy on WABC radio..77 WABC!!!! lol

  • hahahaha

  • Schaefer is the one beer to have when on a bender

  • My dad used to drink Schaefer as he drove home from work in the 60's. Hearing this jingle in my childhood fucked me up, I reckon.

  • Now that Schaefer's been sold to Milwaukee (smart move, Pabst.), what beer do us New Yorkers love to drink?

  • is it?

  • my last name is schaefer. this is a pretty cool commercial.

  • I used to love Schaefer even though it gave me some of the worst hangovers I ever had. Back in the 80s, when I got my paycheck the first thing I would do was go the liquor store and buy a case for $5.50. Good times.

  • Great slogan!

  • no one does it better than handsome dancin' Dan McGee

  • Could you imagine a company trying that jingle today? lol

  • MADD would have a lawsuit delivered to their door in 48 hours.

  • used to love to drink Schaefer at the old Madison Square Garden during Ranger Games man that stuff was gooooooood

  • Now what do you drink during them Ranger games?

  • moved to North Carolina 13 years ago have not

been to the city in a long long time

had to give up the beer when my gut started

to look like I was havin a baby.LOL

  • It's-a me! With-a this leak or not! I'm-a coming.

  • Hmmm, I wonder if you can use this jingle to create a promo for a local TV Station. For example, KTHV in Little Rock....

    TH-V's the-One Place to Be

When you're looking for the one

    Our Commitment never ends

even when the news is done.

    The most importatnt people

    in Arkansas,

are people who are next to none.

    TH-V's the-One place to be

When you're looking for the one.

  • Thanks! I still remember the lyrics :)

  • i toured the shaeffer brewery in the late 70's with my brothers and my grandparents, my grandfather got tanked on the UNLIMITED free samples, and of course drove home. what else do you expect from the "one to have when you are having more than one"!!!

  • That's my dad in the light sport jacket !

  • That's BERNIE KNEE, "King of the Jingles & Demos" lead singer.

Also singing is Bud McKenzie, Bob Swanson and Jack Keller.

  • That's cool! This is one of the classiest looking ads not to mention the jingle itself.

  • awesum duz n e have the 1 where the yng dude is forced to sing the slogan n blows it away. that 1 is totally incredible

  • Are you referring to one where the new rookie fireman is required to sing the jingle by the firehouse lockers...and it turns out that he has an Irish-tenor like voice? That one was my fav too..i shud know ery one, my y father worked for Schaefer from 1948-1975

  • Awesum but the very very best is the commercial where a bunch of dudes were surrounding one guy and had him sing the slogan n the blew there sox off. Wud love to see that one

  • cold beers

  • Best beer slogan ever...love how they refill the glass at the end of the ad!!!!

  • This was our favorite beer in college (mainly due to price)! The motto makes a lot of sense...after the first and second, which were a bit skunky, the rest of the Shaeffers of the evening tasted quite good! Too bad this one has faded into obscurity...
