@bodunchar definitely. you should see the amount of mods this game has to enhance the experience of the game. a few people still play online. the one time i was one a few weeks ago there were 4 servers. unfortunately it's laggy
Why would anyone want to invest in updating such a bad game engine to begin with?
This engine never ran properly. You all know it's true.
Such a good game.. such a crappy engine.
We just need a new game based on the same concept (hovertank RTS/DM) on a new engine. Imagine how crazy BZ/BZ2 would look on Unreal Engine 3, or Cryengine. This stuff is way outdated.
I too used to play this game back in the beta period (silentassasin32). I approached the martian about investment opportunities for the game's overhaul, but he motioned that he would like to keep all the rights to himself and the small stream of monthly payments as well.
the problem is, you have a nerd like the Martian (guy who is running game) unwilling to get help from outside people to overhaul it. I offered him investment opportunity but he seems unwilling.
i remember this game, i don't like most games by this author, but i played bz2 when i was like 13-14, good times, and the first time ever i played multiplayer was on bz2, has alot of friends there. and yeah the mod looks cool too.

You can play against others or coop against the computer online but it's basically the same thing. Both sides are building bases up while trying to destroy eachothers base. There is deathmatch as well.
@racer927 Open what? the music? I remember they were just in a folder at the time. Can't remember exactly where thought because it was quite a while ago. I think someone said it was music from the Forgotten Enemies mod though I'm not positive.
@racer927 If you go to Bzscrap(dot)com you can find a file list and under utilities there should be a file called Pakexplorer. You can use that to open the pak files.
The PV I refer to is Project Visitor but if you want to play against other people, you can do it in multiplayer if you start a game and get other people to play as well.
Not sure how many of you know this, but "Shift + F2" puts you into 3rd person. I play like that all the time, I like it better that way. Just hit "Shift + F1" if you're gonna snipe.
BTW IcyScythe, I guess they still do. I don't find too many servers though

Well there is still a decent size modding community for Battlezone2. This video was just me testing a few things for a mod that I am slowly working on.
what are you talking about that wasnt a cheat, the commander could walk into the building that produced scouts and alter their weapon sets, making them cost more/less. or you could use the armory to launch an arc blaster to them, either way it wasnt a cheat

I have the default settings in the options set to 3rd person view so I don't have to keep on changing it every time I start a game.
