Yes I am having the same problem! I thought I had bought a defective kit. I am trying to figure out how to get the rim shots to work. It does great for straight-on drumming but if I try to do any jazz-type stuff, it doesn't sound right without the rim shots.
Hi Mike! I just bought the same kit and it seems that the dual zone snare has some dead spot. I have to hit dead on center for the snare to respond. If I hit close to the edge/rim, the snare does not respond. Do you have the same problem? Thanks.
Horrible

Great job! Little rusty on the free wheeling part, but your meter is dead on... the jam sessions are will be a little more interesting now...
