@bestamerica Those are gravity bombs in this episode. Parachutes were used on gravity bombs during low altitude operations to ensure safe separation of the bombs from the aircraft…that way when they detonated, they wouldn’t jeopardize the safety of the aircraft & crew.
@YoungJim409 Most of those video shots were during testing, so anything could happen, even failed parachutes…as a Tester, all test missions are successful! Even failed ones, because we would learn from them…either fix the issue or correct our procedures

Seems like a lot of the high-drag devices failed to operate. I'm impressed with the fin/ballute device the UK bombs had though, clever idea.
