I have literally never seen anyone use that amount of lube on ANY weapon in my life... and I spent four years in the Marine Corps Infantry as a Machinegunner.
I've got two of these rifles myself and I can tell you that in my experience the Anderson folks are telling the truth about their rifles! Without the grease or oil to atract contaminates the rifle shoots cleaner and cooler, and yes longer (2,000 rds. before cleaning).
damn who the hell lubs up an ar/m16-m4 like that. jesus lol i think thats a little over board hahahaha just use a little bearing grease or white lithum grease thats all ive used in any ar platform rifle and have never had any issues or need for clp or hoppe's other then clean out the bore and barrel. clean your rifle accordingly sorry for the errors in spelling in hurry but and use the bearing grease on the metal on metal surfaces and bolt. please people use common sense
I'll believe it when I see it. I remember when they said nickel-boron coatings would allow you to shoot ARs dry without any issues. This turned out not to be completely accurate.
um yeah its lighter and i doubt its more accurate you just dont shoot saws as much as the ar, and the ar is semi auto where as the saw is an automatic weapon thus better cover fire and it uses 200 round drums
@TheHiddenPart Editing the files is easy. The main problem with using DSLR for video is that it is extremely awkward. The interface just doesn't work well for any kind of action. I am planning to get a dedicated video camera later this year in preference to using 5D2.
@TheHiddenPart I really do not think you will like FZ100 for anything serious. Poor low light performance, very compromised lens. 550 is vastly superior in performance, speed of operation.
I just have 2 questions:
1) What kind of muzzle brake is that? I've been hearing things about "cqc muzzlebrakes" which can supposedly punch holes in someone.
2) If you dip the bolt carrier and stuff in water, won't it rust?

@olegvolk I don't need to, I can see the M203 cutout

"with a heavy barrel" that rifle obviously has an M-4 profile barrel, far from heavy

Look at that barrel smoke!

they make it sound like the ar needs cleaning after every mag.. FAR from the truth.

Hmm. Work at a range that rents M16s. Clean them every other week. Just lube between cleanings, never had a problem.
Sounds like a solution looking for a problem.

Dear Mr. Volk, Could I ask you some hints about videomaking?
I've watched your videos for a long time and looks like you're quite handy with your Canon DSLR..
With that said, would you recommend one ( 550D ) for someone on an average PC?
How hard is it for the average guy to edit Canon DSLR video files?
Thanks!

@olegvolk Thanks a lot.. this speaks volumes. I'm on the market for one since I have a limited budget,
having an "all in one" that basically works well both as a camera AND a camcorder is appealing to me.
Actually the choice is between a 550D and a Panasonic Lumix FZ100, wich is a superzoom compact..
Why the Lumix? Swiveling LCD screen, mainly. For all other intents and purposes, the 550D would be my only choice. I've got Canon glass aleady..

@olegvolk Heh. I guessed it. Compact superzooms are nice fun toys, but they're not either built or designed for serious work.
Initially I was set with a Nikon P7000 wich is a "pro" P&S, but no manual controls during video,
same for the Canon G12, another "prosumer-high-end" P&S, but still, no manual controls during video. Price was interesting to say the least.
All I need is a damn Mic In jack and manual controls.. how hard can it be?!?

So what you got there is basically a FailZero bolt but with a different treatment. Right?

150 rounds of semi auto? No good. Get a slide fire stock :)
