while i agree w/peele that the current paradigm for working with alcohol/drug abuse is hopelessly anachronistic & generally useless, i think the ad-hom attack on volkow is uncalled for & detracts from the larger point.

neuroscience almost certainly does speak to the issue & while brain scans aren't the final word, they sure beat the hell out of the "progressive, fatal disease" balderdash that's still prominent in the 'treatment' industry.
