Which kids did you like the best? What did you think about the girl who left school? Who was pulled out by her mother? What about the girl whose aunt forced her into prostitution for the income? Is it justified?
How has your perspective change after watching this film?
@adhjable I saw it, and no they don't. Well the girls are forced into it at a young age. The boys are forced to sell drugs. But they're surrounded by it all from day one. This life is so horrible.
The yanks say this movie is inspirational, while 6 of their riches could feed and possibly eradicate poverty in Africa. They spend billions of dollars fighting a drug war that hurts no one, while people are dying every day of a disease that could be cured with a one dollar injection.
@william6198640 A drug war that hurts no one? That's funny, because drugs hurt the people who take them, (but yes, it's their own fault) but how about their children? The children of addicts, of dealers, of drug mules, of gangs, and violence... In many places, they have just as little hope of escape as the children born into brothels. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there. In fact, this movie is a good example of that fact.
@canibeyou,its true some people wine because they cant go to party's of something or they dont get what they want, try watching this, we have it easy here. I hope one of these days all this is gone.
Omg the nun speaking for a few seconds in this clip used to visit our school and talk to us about the work she was doing in calcutta!!! i wish i could remember her name, anyway my old school LORETO BRAY in ireland if anyone knows it ha
I remember watching this documentary and I was really impressed and amazed at how much this documentary was able to capture the improvished lives of children and their families living in the red district of Calcutta. Even more amazing is the fact that one of the kids in the documentary named Avijit is now studying film in NYU...this documentary thoroughly deserved the academy award and needs to be seen by absolutely everyone!
I was so inspired by this show. I just viewed this on tv. I love the work that this woman has done for these children to suceed. Getting them into boarding schools. She is to be commended.

India in a nutshell. Over 50% of the citizens would be happy to be in homeless shelters here in Canada.

so basically, this documentary is about the children learning photography and not about child trafficking?
