Ok have to admit you have a fan on your hands now.. lol.. sorry music as I said is a passion.. and well your voice is pretty amazing.. and love the guitar... the guitar has to be one of my favorites about your videos.. Tehehe.. obsessed with guitars..is that an Alverez?
sorry, lived in va.4 20 years.. had 2 move 2 wisconsin...miss my family much and your music helps.. i call my family and tell them what covers of yours 2 listen 2.... have you ever done sunday morn?
No,I honestly believe you have a GREAT gift.I have listened 2 close 2 a thousand just covers, and I was never impressed. as soon as they started I would stop them, they just didnt work. then I came upon your Johnny Cash. I was blown away..You see that was one of my mothers favs, and she passed away when I was very young. So I am really paticular about that song. i was taken back.. I am from the mountains of West Virginia...REAL country. I am now in Virginia..You should try some Hinder.
i am really impressed..I turned my sister and all my girlfriend on to you and they agree...we dont know what your doing now, but you need to be doing this full time. If you ever get a chance to play in a club, please let all your FANS know. we would love to come and see you in person....
Just trying to learn as many songs as I can, so should I ever sing in public... It won't last for 20 mins. lol Thanks so much for your words of encouragement... It means alot. Where ya from?
I ONLY WISH this Guitar was a Martin~ It's an Alvarez~ Martin hopefully soon to come, though I wasn't aware they made a Johnny Cash Martin~ May have to look into that! :)
It's goddamn amazing dude!probably you're the Cash's bastard;)this song kicks ass playing that way - good flow. I'm under impressed..Egg Suckin' Dogg would be the next one;) keep on rockin'!
Rock island line can be played with just an E believe it or not. Just pluck the top E string and then D U in the begining. then just pick up speed. DDU is the strum pattern when you pick up speed. Keep making the video's man, you rock.
Dude.. pretty damn good.. alittle different but i liked it.. you should try san quentin.. or elvis's in the ghetto.. i think you'd tear those songs up.. keep up the good work man!
THanks Much! I've ALWAYS Loved "In The Ghetto" though I've never tried to learn it. I'll have to look into San Quentin as well, I've recently been trying to learn Tennesse Stud~ Hopefully should have some new ones soon! Thanks for your Words~
No problem man.. just keep making the video's.. your damn good.. "in the ghetto" is pretty easy, just E,A,D.(at least thats how i play it). Another i think you may bring down the house with is Johnny Cash's rock island line.
Damn, you don't know HOW BAD I wish I could get the Groove of Rock Island Line~ That's Such a Sweet Song! Talk about Fast & tricky Rythym... Definitly keepin' it in my mind! Thanks Again~
i can play it, its fairly easy once you learn the rythme. the chords are very easy. if i had a video camera and my guitar wasnt at a music store right now i'd post it. get the chords and lyrics in front of you and slowly strum the E chord. then pick up the pace... there's only 2 chords for the whole song E and B7. its not as fast as you think, listen to johnny cash sing it... good luck and once u get it down pat post it.. nice job too
Thanks for the Boost! I've ALWAYS LOVED that Song & definitly want to learn it! E & B7, huh? That doesn't seem to bad... I'll have to give it a Whirl! Go get you guitar & a Video & feel free to give a Lesson! I need more people showin, as I seem to learn better that way. However I've taught myself all the Johnny Songs I know, with the exception of Folsom Prison... Thanks again Acoustic Guitar! Happy Holidays!
ya also put a capo on the 1st fret, i think it sounds closer to johnny cash's version for "rock island line." listen to the song for the strumming pattern. i mostly play johnny cash... what other songs can you play of his?
Ummmm... I've got 5 of his on here. I can play his version of Stings song "I Hung my Head". Man, I'm drawing a blank right now... lol I really want to start trying to learn some Waylon Jennings Songs, as I am Fascinated with his music! He was Such an "Outlaw" & has such a Demanding Voice. Hopefully I'll get to learn some more soon..... When you going to ad some Johnny Songs? I always enjoy hearing other people sing his tunes. Happy Thanksgiving! Corey~
umm... not sure when... whenever i get a video camera.. i've got a few in mind to post.. like folsom prison blues, hurt, ring of fire, rock island line, god's gonna cut you down, cocaine blues, cat's in the cradle, orange blossom special and rusty cage... i know of one shooter jenning's song and its called "im a long way from home". there's "mama's dont let you babies grow up to be cowboys" by waylon jennings and willie nelson and some other ones by those 2 too.
Oh, I Love that Waylon & that song especially! I've really got to get into a Waylon Kick, cause there is so much I want to learn! Cats in the Cradle is good & I know Hurt. I just don't feel like I know it well enough.... Damn, I'd love to hear some of your tunes! Go get a Camera already! :) HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I am Open Ears for any reccomendations! I litterally work 14 hour days, so it's hard for me to learn new songs right now.... But I'm Always Down for suggestions! Someone requested Man In Black, or I may not have learned it! lol Thanks Again! :)

I also don't sing in public alot. I do sing at gatherings but I need a certain amount of a "confidance juice" called Bud Light he! he! I will eventually be posting a video myself in the near future.
Good done! You gave this song a real personal twist! The way you did it makes it more Blues and less rock or country! It is a good thing people try to give songs an own interpetation instead of trying to copy the original hopelesly! I also watched your other vids, great done!
I'm so Trying to get some going! I'm working 10-12 hour days right now & it's hard for me to play when I'm SO Worn Out! I'm learning a few though, I feel like I'm negecting my guitar! She's a very understanding Girlfriend though... :p More to come Very Soon, I Promise! Thanks Again Friend...
Yeah, I wasn't going for the "Cash Sound" on this one... That's more of how I felt Singin' it. I've tried singin' like cash, though he plays it in different chords, so it just Totally messes me up! I need to get new videos on here... HAPPY HOLIDAYS! (I'm starting to Ramble...)
its funny how people like to change words around and totally distort meanings...you have a good voice...you need to learn how to adjust the strumming to the changes youve made because there are points your playing catch up and points you are completely behind
